Timothy Collins was fined $1 in the Mayor's court Thursday morning for provoking W. O. Smith.

Max Tannenbaum and wife leave for Turkey Run to-night where they will go into camp with a party of friends.

The tenth annual reunion of the Seventh Indiana Cavalry will bo held at Valpariazo on the 7tli and 8th of September.

Miss Mabel Coddington of the Indiana Normal College, Covington, who won the gold medal in this city, won the grand gold medal at Hoopston, 111., last week.

At the Old School Baptist Association held at Golf's Grove near Elmdale this week Elder Darnell was elected Moderator and E. F. Goff, Secretary. It was decided to hold the meeting next year at Big Shawnee.

The Crawfordsville fair holds from September, 5 to 9. This fair iB always good. ItB special attraction this year is the fast driving of Lola and Wanetah Grimes, the champion lady drivers of the world.—Rockville Republican.

Mrs. Malichi Scott disturbed the serenity of the north end Wednesday night by dragging her drunken husband through the streets by the hair. Malichi's screams and his wife'B curses brought the police down on them and Mrs. Malichi was run in. She was released the following morning and it is said the reunion between husband and wife was very effecting.

Death of William Robertson. Wm. Robertson died at his home on west Main street yesterday morning the the result of a stroke of paralysis. The deceased was born in Cooper Augus, Scotland, in 1821. He came to this city in 1851 and learned the trade of Cauin&t maker. In 1868 Wm. Rnhflrt, son uo. oegan making fcomns at which business he continued until the time of his deat. He was married twice, his last wife beingMiss Susan Ramey who preceeded him over the dark river juBt six months to the day. Mr. Robertson leaves an adopted daughter, Mrs. Morelaud Binford, of this city. The funeral will be held tomorrow afternoon from the residence, Rev. E. B. Thompson officiating.

The nine-weeks-oid child of Frank Chesterson, living six miles south of the city, died Saturday. The remains were intered at Oak Hill Monday.

The annual reunion of the Benefiel family will be held this year in October upon tho farm of John L. Davis. Persons will be in attendance from several States, and from all the counties in the State.

The committee appointed to secure that £30,000 for Wabash coiiege, is meeting with fair success. Up to date they have pledged to them a little more than 810,000, of which amount 85,000 is given by a friend of the institutipn living in Indianapolis.

The union sacred 6ong service given at Clore's grove last Sunday, was largely attended. The exercises were highly interesting and the occasion such happy one that the services will be peated in some other part of the county at no distant day.

Manager Townsley is making a vigorous effort to break up the practice of boys "beating" their way into Music Hall by means of ladders, windows, and otherwise. Last Saturday night Poter Flynn and Willard Weadows were captured just as they landed from the second story window into tho corridor. They were fined 810.35 each and are now rendering faithful service on the stone pile. .1

James Collins is exhibiting a very good species of silver ore which he found along Sugar Creek last week. Mr. Collins is satisfied that there is both silver and gold in this county, which could be found in paying quantities if the search was properly prosecuted.

Born, to Mr. and Mrs. George B. Hawthorne, of Shawnee Mound, on last Friday, a dear little girl babe—weight 10^ pounds. Grandfather David Meharry is tickled over it as though it was his own, and is accused of meditating a flying jump over the flag polo on top of the Mound. They have named it Elma Florence.—Lafayette Call.
