Dr. Iluntsinger performed a successful surgical operation in the removal of a tumor from the eye-ball of MrB. Perkins living some nine miles in the country last Thursday.
The republican central committee has issued a call for the different townships to meet on Saturday Juno 18, to select delegates for the Congressional, Joint Senatorial conventions.
The Court House flag was at half mast yesterday in honor of the memory of Hon. Geo. W. Carr, who died yesterday morning at the residence of hia son, ex-Mayor Carr. Tho remains will be taken to Jackson county to-day for interment.
The Knights Templars and their ladieB to the number of about 100 went to Ladoga Thursday afternoon on a special train. Rev. G. W. Switzer delivered the Ascension Day sermon which was followed by a grand banquet. The party returned home a little after midnight more than delighted with the success of the occasion.
Harry E. Brothers and Miss Daisy Bayless, were quietly married at the home of the bride's parents, W. R. Bayless and wife, on east Main street last Wednesday evening, Rev. G. P. Fuson officiating. Both are well known young people who have the best wishes of hosts of friends for a prosperous future in the craft on which they have embarked on the broad sea of matrimony.
Pettit's Health Failing.
The following special from Valparaiso to the Cincinnati Enquirer of Thursday says: "Preacher Pettit, who attracts more attention than any convict in the prison, is in a wretched condition, the result of hemmorages of the lungs, and his recovery is in doubt. He does not realize his impaired physical condition, and hopes to receive a new trial.

Tho suit of Sarah Lemin vs. Mrs. Emma Storm venued from Tippecanoe county, was heard by Judge Harney Monday and Tuesday. The suit was for a claim of $200 for taking care of Mrs. Storm's aged fathers of which amount the jury awarded the plaintiff $125,
Charley Zozel. of tho Washington street lunch and billiard joint, has brought suit in Justice Chumasero's court against John Mateer and Tom Little, a pair of frisky students, to recover debts incurred by tho defendants masticating sandwiches and punching the ivories during tho long winter months.

Adam Zwickle, of Anderson, is the owner of a horse that is developing an elegant pair of horns, such as usually ornament tho head of a bovine. The horns came out of the forehead just above the eyes and are now about two inches in length. Although the horse is six years old tho horns did not make their appearance until recently, and are growing at a rapid rate.'

We may not have a circus this summer but wo are happy in tho realization that an Uncle Tom's Cabin with two TopseyB, two Marks, two donkeys and a whole pack of the fiercest beef eating blood hounds on record will soon be with us. The Seniors of the high school will give their class day exhibition at Music Hall on next Thursday evening, June 2nd.
Admission to the College ClasB day exhibition will be 50 cents this year. The boys are getting out some special scenery for the occasion.'
Mrs. W. D. McClelland was called to Frankfort Tuesday morning by a telegram announcing that her father, Mr. Mitchell, had dropped dead from heart disease.
Harry Crawford, Jr., Bays the Chicago & Southeastern road (Indiana Midland) is to be extended to a point on the' Illinois Central road, probably Urbana, and at a much earlier date than the past history of tho road would lead one to suppose possible.
Al Martin who has had charge of Lawson's photograph gallery for some time past leaves for Covington, where he will open anew gallery. Mr. Martin is an expert workman and a model young man. Tho REVIEW wishes him success in his future home.
J. W. Roberts, who has just accepted tho position of master mechanic of the Chicago & Southeastern road, was for twenty-two years with tho Bee-lino as master mechanic. The company owns eight engines which ho proposes to rebuild at tho company's shops in Lebanon.
Henry Perry and James Hanna became involved in a little dispute over a case they were trying in Justice Chumasero's court last Tuesday and amused a large crowd by their wild gestures and hot words. Perry finally lost control of himself and struck Hanna in tho breast Friends here intefercd and the combatants were separated.
C. N. Williams was in Greencastle Tuesday where tho time and place for holding the joint senatorial and representative conventions will be held. Tho place selected was Greencastle and the date is July 7lh. The basis of representation will be one delegate to every 100 votes cast for the last republican cardidate for secretary of State.

Mrs. Emily D. Dickorson has filed. Buit for a divorce in tho circuit court against Arthur H. Dickerson, charging him with abandonment. Arthur lives in Terre Haute while Emily resides with her mother Mrs. Pruett, on east College Street.
Sheriff Bible and Deputy Wallace Brannon viewead tho high waters around St. Louis this week. They combined business],* with pleasure by placing in the hands of tho St. Louis police a description of tho recently escaped criminals in the hopes that they may be gobbled up in tho near futuro should their goiding star lead them that wav.
