Democrats Meet and Select Delegates to the Different Conventions. Last Saturday's convention was ono of the largest and most enthusiastic ever held in this county. The meeting was called to order by Chairman Johnston at 10 o'clock a, lu. The'names of Dr. Gott and Gen. Manson were placed in nomination for Chairman, but Dr. Gott withdrew and Gen. Charley Williams and Harry Smith, two colored lads about fifteen yearB of age, were arrested Monday for vagrancy at the instigation of H. S. Watson and are now doing pennance in jail.

The Fowler Creamery company desires to sell its plant.—Lafayette Times. The company here would no doubt— gladly unload also. The "Creamery" business can rarely, it seems, bo made a success any where.

Tho Monon agents have been instructed not to accept from connections, or permit to be loaded, any flat cars, with machinery, telegraph poles or lumber that project over tho Bills of the car, and the load must not be over ten fopt and six inches wide.

What will not the loving wife forgive? Edward Schultz, the young farmer of Shawnee prairie, who recently olopea to Kansas with Miss Ella Dodge, organist of the ghawneo Mound church has returned a prodigal, and been forgiven by his much better half.

Hicks For April.

The last storm period in March will run two days into April. Rain, hail and snow will result. A cold wave will appear about the 2nd to 3d, but, in consequence of extra distributing causes present, fully explained in Words and Works for April, 1892, much- stormy and unsettled weather will continue past tho f)th and Gth. Tho 10th to# 13th inclusive, is a period of special excitement. Watch the storms. Heavy hail, with much thunder. A frigid wave resulting in frost and freezing is apt to appear at tho close of this period. Warmer with secondary storms about the 17th and 15th. Easter squalls— cold with snow Hurries. Tho 23d to 26th is, also, a marked storm period, followed by cold weather. Warmer with storms 29th and 30th.

Eobt. Dunbar for Commissioner. The name of Robert Dunbar of Sugar Crook township is announced this week as a candidate for county Commissioner from the eastern district of the county, the same as now filled by John Peterman. Mr. Dunbar has been repeatedly urged by his neighbors and friends to make the race and has consented to do so. His standing as a citizen, farmer and business man is

At the mentioiiPof the name of Grover Cleveland by Mr. Foley the convention hall rang out loud and strong by round after round of applause. The harmony and enthusiasm which prevailed during the convention show that democracy of old Montgomery are in earnest which assures them a glorious victory in November.
