Another snow came and went on short notice and set the creeks a booming. Ina Corns is sick and not able to teach her school at Hunt's school house.

The meeting at the Creek closed last week with several conversions and accessions. Rev. Sailors is a success as an evangelist and he and Rev. Spohn make a good team.

The schools of Sugar Creek township all closed this week. They have run five months and will apply the other month to a spring term which will give about two months for spring.

The time for making maple sugar is fast rolling around and people are getting ready to make it. As the wheat is looking well and a good sugar season is death on it, we hope to have plenty of wheat if we have to do with less sweets.

The patrons of cottage grove school gave a grand suprise and dinner to tne teachers and scholars last Tuesday. The women of cottage grove district know how to cook and any one doubting this should have visited the school on that day.

The wedding of Charles Custer and Bell Maguire last week was a grand affair and the writer had the pleasure of attending both wedding and reception and can Bay the suppers at both wtore grand. Also that we did justice in sampling them. A great many useful presents were given. May their

Miss Sally Fullen assistant post master is sick with la grippe. Wall Foster took 3 fine horses to Crawfordsville this week.

Mrs. Martin, of Cloverdale, is visiting her daughter, Mrs. Dicks. Miss Sally Harney is down from the county seat to see Miss Sally Fullen.

W. B. Gill purchased some cattle at the stock yards at Indianapolis to feed at his farm south of town.

Dr. Wilson who was called to Tennessee to attend on Dudley Young who was down there for his health.

Frank Ashby has returned from his wintering in Texas much improved in health. He says Texas is a booming state.

Barns & Wingert have to ship in oats to Bupply home market. A failure is always successful in making a "home market."

Mrs. Bell Seward, from Bloomington spoke Saturday and Sunday night to our peoplo on that much abused critter "Woman's Right.''

Jessie P. Hymer, died of la grippe Feb. 9th 1892, aged 87 year, at his residence three miles south east of Ladoga. Mr.Hymer, with his young wife,Eliza Gill came from Kentucky in the spring of 1833 and settled down to make a home on a quarter section of land given Eliza by her father, and with that energy and pluck inherited by both from their ancestry, that soon gave them a good home. Soon came up around them a good family and a 1 lost of friends. He soon showed himself to be a first class busines man as a farmer and stock raiser. He added many acres to his farm and died on the home he made. His wife and all his children except three survive him. His farm is known far and near as a good stock farm which ho raised for quite a number of year. He has lived G3 year on the same place and never was sick a day till taken down with la grippe.

Mrs. Carson died at her resldeuce 1% miles north of Mace last Saturday. The funeral was preached at the residence at 10 o'clock Tuesday. Interment at Walnut Hill grave yard one-half mile north of Mace.

A small child of Sam Conner's grand child of Mrs. Joe Linn was buried last Friday, following -Its grand mother only two days,she being buried on Wednesday. She died of appolexy while waltliig on tho child.
