Hot on the Trail.
Last Monday morning a young gentleman and lady alighted from the Big' Four east bound train and were driven immediately to the Sherman House where they registered as C. Raiser and wife, not giving, as usual in hotels, the town from which they hail. The pair attracted considerable attention by their tine appearance. The lady was very pretty, neatly dressed and about 25 years of age. Her escort was a portly gentleman about six feet tall, .'$5 years of age and fashionably attired. The couple remained until Tuesday morning when they boarded the Vandalia train, ostensibly for Frankfort. Nothing was thought of the occurrence until Wednesday morning when two ladies, one young and the other aged, arrived at theSherman House and registered as Mrs. C.
Raiser and mother, LeRoy, 111. Mrs. Raiser at once began looking through the register and when she found the names of 0. Raiser and wife, which had been registered on Monday, fell in a faint. After reviving she told Landlord Nolan thht she was the legtimate wife of Raiser while the lady who was uuirping the title and traveling with her husband was none other than her sister, the lady with her at present being the mother of both. These ladies had followed the guilty pair successfully to this city in the hopes of catching them here. At ter receiving what information Mr. Nolan possessed in the matter they left the same evening for Frankfort but with what succeBsthey met we have notlearned
51ST YEAR.—N0.19 CRAWFORDSVILLE, INDIANA, SATURDAY. DECEMBER 19. 1891. TERMS. Sl.25 PER YEAR
The Abraham Boys In Trouble. Last Thursday's Indianapolis Journal contained the following in regard to John and Frank Abraham, two former Crawfordsvillians now in the laundry business in that city. "Early yesterday morning John and Frank Abraham and E. E. C'aylor were arrested for beating and kicking Caylor's wife last Friday night, when she went to the laundry run by the Abraham brothers and asked them to discharge her husband. Next day she gave birth to a dead .child. It is claimed that this was precipitated by the treatment received at the hands of her husband and theAbra ham boys. They were arrainged yesterday in tho police court, and were bound over in the sum of 81,000. Reports reached the coroner's ofiice yesterday afternoon that Mrs. Cay lor would die, and tho Deputy Coroner Dunn went to hor house on north Mississippi street to take an anti-mortem statement. He found, however, that Bhe was much improved and would recover and so no statement was asked for."
Since the above was in type it has developed that it was a daring blackmailing schemo on the part of the woman. The light she had took place with her husband at a livery stable remoto from the laundry. The complaint lodg ed against the boys was a scheme on the part of the woman to get money from them and the case will probably be dismissed when it comes up.

The Sham and the Real.
Every good thing has its imitators, every genuine article its counterfeits. The Ammonia and Alum Baking Powders sold over the counters are no more like Dr. Price's Cream Baking Powder, than the paste is like the real diamond, or a counterfeit is like one of the old master's genuine paintings.
When greedy and merciless manufacturers claim their adulterated and harmful baking powders are as good as Dr. Price's, they know they are not telling the truth. These people know they are destroying the stomachs and the com* plexion of the consumers, and there are many grocers recommending such powders over their counters—knowing same to be injurious and worthless—simply to make a large profit.
Dr. Price, a concientious physician, has spent a lifetime in perfecting and popularizing his Cream Baking Powder, the only Pure Cream Tartar Powder now to be obtained.
Multitudes of imitators all over the land have sprung up, not to imitate the purity of Price's Cream Baking Powder, but to see how cheap they could make their counterfeits and hoodwink the public.
Some use .Ammonia and others Alum, but all these shams cry in chorus, "Buy this, its just as good as Dr. Price's and much cheaper.
Price's Cream Baking Powder is the standard for purity and perfection the world over, and is beyond comparison. Dr. Price stands for Pure Food and a foe to all shams*
