St. John's Lecture,
Ex-Governor St. John spoko to an audience of democrats, republicans, prohibitionists and others, numbering about •100 at the large court room on Tuesday evening. Tho Ex-Governor is a medium sized man, about sixty yearsof age, quite gray, and has beon engaged on his favorite theme for overnine years, traveling in most of tho states of tho nion. His speech was near two hours in length, in which he gives many figures relating to tho saloon business. Democrats and republicans .'dike received it right from the shoulder in his speech. He is a decidedly entertaining speaker, at times quite eloquent, and from the frequent applause Iks received the audience. no doubt was well entertained. St. John is a native Hoosier. born in Johnson county, but has resided in Kansas over twenty years. His home is at Olathe. in that state.

man South worth, and the discovery that for years he has been preaching the doctrines which llorne told Inspector Uyrnes were to be forced on the people by lectures first and dynamite bombs afterward, was a very important link in the chain which is tightening around the alleged conspirators. A still more startling confirmation of the story has been unearthed by reporters. who in searching thorough i,v the debris in the financier's wrecked ofliee found a piece of bloodstained red, white and Hue ribbon, as well as a bit of watch chain. The ribbon is probably the most important bit of evidence connecting »he bomb-thrower with Soulhwortli and ether members of the. "K. I". V."---or (irand Army of Labor society—that ha yet turned up.
It will lie rcmemlieiv 1 that in Capt. Dome's detailed account of the Grand Army of Labor organization he told of the badges worn by the members. South worth, the man whose head is now at the morgue, and the twelve other fanatics who talked of proselyting lectures and dynamite boinhs in the same breath, wore badges of red, white and blue, the colors corresponding to the three degrees of the order—red

emblematic of the highest degree. llorne saw these badges on the men who talked to him of bomb throwing, and he said they were worn on the waistcoat, suspended from an eagle, or bar by a piece of red, white and blue ribbon. The ribbon worn by the man who explodec" the bomb in Russell Sage's otiicc liar been found.
