At Gainesville it is above the. high water mark and information comes from above that place that the rise was very rapid and unexpected and many people barely escaped with their lives. All communication with the Indian territory has beer cut off and it will be some time before the damape can be rep ^red. Messengers from Hurling' state that the river is running wild in that section, with destruction to property and some lives lost north of Doss, on the Missouri, Kansas »Sr Texas railway. D. T. Harris. a stockman, lost 400 head of cattle and fifty-tive horses. The damage done in the territory ean only In- surmised, as all communication is cutoff. A dispatch from Helcher says that the Red river, which runs 3 miles north of there, ison one of tile greatest rampages ever known, i'l-iday afternoon about 1 o'clock a volume of water Hi feet, high came rushing' down the valley, bearing trees, brush, housetops, dead animals and debris of all kinds, and in thirty minutes the whole, valley was one vast sheet of water. Shelby, charged with the murder of Mrs. Sal lie Moore, as taken by a mob of 100 unknown men from the jail and hanged. The sheriff resisted and was roughly handled. signee of John liardslcy on Saturday filed in the court of common pleas an inventory and appraisement of the reai and personal property of the ex-trcastircr. The inventory includes seventy-four small houses in various sections of the city, a number of notes, and the famous Si45,000 in due bills that Bardsley says was given him for that amount of money he deposited in the Keystone bank.
