THE BALHIICCH BUGLE.

MR. EDITOR:

The Balhinch Bugle, in its last issue, contained the following: Balhiuch is to be represented at the World's Fair. Her display of pumpkins, gourds, gingsang, greeus, rhubarb, and Indian turnips, will bo prodigious! Col. John Lewallen will be Snperintendant of our department.

The report that the Bugle would be transfered to Yountsviile is false. The rumor, no doubt, was set afloat by some malicious cuts for the parpose of injuring our town. That Yonntaville is jealous of Balhinch, there can be no question. We may not have new roller* in our fleur mill, but we are growing in popularity and talent.

Martin Van Bnren Smith, of Crawfordsville, will address the yeomen, of this vicinity, at the Slab town school house, Monday night, from a Cleaveland-democratic standpoint. Smith is a great admirer of Grover and civil service reform.

It is an exquisite pleasnre these warm, sunny days to ramble out in the country—the glad free country—and cateh the scent of the sweet breath of spring, breathed through the lips of flowers where the air is pure, and rosy health reigns supreme where the orehards ars billows #f fragrant bloom, and dogwood blossoms star the emerald woods. Cosy farm bouses nestle here and there in sheltered nooks cool crystal springs gush from mossydecked ravines. On the breast of virgin April lays the blooming ensign of triumphant sun and shower, and on her brow is hung the modest coronet of May. Her path is strewn with flowers and her bower made of roses. Her coming is heralded forth with gladsome song and carol, and muaio wafted over her from leafy choristers and shaded realm.

Rev. Jonah FoBsilback preached a glowing sermon at the old hard shell chnrch, last Sunday night, on "The Kingdom of Hell." He closed with these beautiful words: "This fire, burning with brunestone, will have a searching (lame, which bemg mingled with rolling smoke, will fill the whole place, and raise a storm of darkness. A mass of bodies, heaped one upon another, will contribute to make up part of that dreadful night not a glimpee of air will be left to the eye of tbedamned, which will be darkened and almost put out. To this prison, as to a common sewer, ail the filth of earth shall run after the fire has purged the world at the last day. The brimstone will cauBe a stench not to be borne, and the very bodies of the damned will exhale a pestilential stench, and if one of them were placed here on earth, it would cause a general infection. The fire of Hell was only created for God to revenge himseir on the wicked it is kindled with a sabstance that will always burn with unspeakable fury, and without ever consuming. It will penetrate our very bones aud marrow. The eternal furnace is already lighted up. This fire will not only burn the body but the soul also. In Hell the pains will always continue. The damned will be kept in their full senses so as to have greater feeling of their misery. To complete the dispair of the damned, they will consider the glory ef the saints in Heaven, fAt this point Bill Stump fainted and had to be carried home on a window shutter.j They will know that God and his angels rejoice at their pains. If I should be saved, sinner, (and I intend to be) and thou should be damned, I shall always laugh and rejoice at thy destruction. [Sobs and groans could be heard in every part of the house and the women had to carried out. Every one of the damned will be like a lighted furnace, which lias its own tiames in itself. All that lilthyjblood will boil in the veins, the braiuB 111 the skull, the bowels in the the body, surrounded with a lake of fire, out of which it caunot escape. [This made Col. Lewallen turn pale as a ghost while Dick Hall's hair stood ou end 'like quils on the fretful porcupine,'" but the nightmare continued.] This is what the divine Majesty requires. It is what the blood of Christ demands. Amen."

Of all the human minds of the present day, Rev. Fossiiback's is the most depraved and warped. It is below the mind of the canibal. He represents an uncivilized creed. He and
