Wilmot MeCormick, an employee in THE RIVIEW office, met with a painful accident last Saturday by having his foot caught in the large cylinder press and terribly lacerated it. He will necessarily be off duty for eeveral days.

As we are not Tippecanoe county we can't give you an intelligent answer, but this much we do know, they should get it.
So far Montgomery county has three applicants for door keeper for the next legislature. As it is six wetks yet until the next legislature convenes there, may be as many more develop in the iuturvening£tinio. Some one will get left—aud probably all. We see that Agues Wallace Villa is stariug this season in the comedy drama, "The World Agaiost Her." Miss Villa, is a back number, a relic of autediluvian days and has bad the world agatuet her since childhood. We hope she has found her Thespian star in her new play although it is a little late in life.
A very amusing little seene was witnessed by a Hornet one night tbis week in the ''still hour ot night." Said Col. DeHart: "The verdict is only temporary. We rely on sufficient errors made iu the Tippecanoe aonnty circuit court to send the case back here for trial when it comes to the supreme cenrt. I do not believe Pettit ever oommiited the crime, for I have never detected a single untruth in him. The verdict shoald have read: 'We, the jury, are in doubt as to Pettit's guilt and therefore sentence him to penitentiary lor life, fearing that we are mistaken.' "—Lafayette Courier.

Ed. Vorisand Albert Miller spent the week with Jasper Clough, near Elmdale, shooting quails. The boys report an excellent time.
A brother of Fred Sheet?, who has resided in Dakota for some years past, has arrived here and will make this city his future residence.
The Lafayette Sunday Leader says: Mrs. Elma C. Whitehead, now in San Francisco, Cal.,will arrive home the latter part of this week.
James McAdains was up before the mayor Monday charged with assault and battery upon Charles Rogers. He pleaded guilty, was fined, paid up and went away happy.
Monday was the busiest day in the Mayor's court for many moons. An assault and battery case, a petty larceny case and three plain drunks. Everybody was happy, except the wrong doers.
Anew time card went into effect on the Monon last Sunday. The south bound train now leaves Crawfordsville at 1:20 p. m, and the north bound at 2:21 p. m. Tho other train remain the same.
Last Monday night the employees of the Nutt Hotel presented to Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Hefternan a beautiful silver cake dish. It was a handsome token of their esteem for their late employer and is greatly appreciated as such.
The Wabash foot ball club demonstrated one thing in the game Saturday with the DePauw, and that is that it don't know bow to play foot ball. An energetic game of "hat" ball is probably where it could better demonstrate its ability.

Taylor Hubbard, the always in trouble man from Darlington, appeared before Mayor Carr Monday morning charged with purloining goods from Thompson's second-hand store and waiving an examination had his bond* fixed at $200, in default of which he was returned to jail.
Mr. Will H. York, of Wayuetown, and Miss Alice Gray, of Brownsvalley, were married on Thursday 30. Will is one of Waynetown's promising young men, well known in this city and county, aud begins married life under very fiatteiiug circumstances. The REVIEW extends congratulations to the young couple.

White Caps are sending out their warnings in Veedersburg and Melott. The News of Veedersburg, tells of two cases ot this kiud this week. It is hoped this lawless spirit will die down before they bring disgrace upon themselves and Fountain county. Or, perhaps, this same turbulent body will soma night steal the court house at Covington and remove it to Veedersburg, thus ending the nonsensical arrangement going on between the two towns.
Last Thursday a horse belonging to Newt Borum. of Shawnee Mound, fell into a we if The animal was in the pasture where there is a well from which the water is drawn by a wind pump and is covered with a platform and surrounded by a wire fence. The horse broke through the fence aud while standing on the platform it broke through, letting biin down in the well, hind feet first, a distance of1 thirty feet. There the horse remained in waler/ up to his neck until the next day at noon when he was discovered. Pulleys aud rbpes were brought aud after throwing a noose over his fore legs a strcng team began to draw him out and when near the top the rope slipped, letting him down in the well again. A second attempt was made which was successful. At last accounts the horse was alive but swollen much beyond his n.^taral size.—Fountain and Warren democrat.
