Dkmovoi.is, AIil, Oct. 0.—Ruba Uurrows, tlie train-robber outlaw and murderer, was shot and killed at 4 o'clock Wednesday morning. Ho ilied with a pistol in each hand, mooting his doom In a reckless and daring attempt to regain his liberty. When ho fell two men bad already gone down before his never-failing aim. The incidents attending his mad dash for liberty and bis death are thrilling in tho extreme.
Burrows was captured late Tuesday afternoon in a negro cabin eight miles south of Linden in this (Marengo) county. His captors were J. C. Carter, a country merchant John McDt'fflo, a farmer, and two nogroes Carter and MoDuflio had employe? to assist them. Tho four men carried their captive to Liindon and placed him in tho sheriff's office forsafo-keeplng. They handcuffed him and tiod his l'eet together with a rope and then McDufile and one of the negroos, John Marshall, remained to guard him during the night Carter took charge of the money found on
Burrows, 8178, and securing a room near the jail went to sleep. When captured Burrows carried a sachol which he said contained some food and clothing. This was thrown in a cornor of tho room where he was confined without being examined.
Burrows slopt till 4 o'clock Wednesday morning while the guards watched, pistols in their hands. When Burrows awoke he askid for the sachel that he might get something to eat out of it. This was handed him by McDuffle, and with manacled hands Burrows took out somo crackcrs and handed them to his guards. oThey put down their pistols and took them. Again the tnanacled hands went down into tho sachel, aud when thoy reappeared each hold a revolver. With a pistol pointed at his captors, Burrows ordered Marshall to untie his feet and unlock the handcuffs. Tho negro obeyed.
He then ordered Marshall to put the bracelets on McDufile's wrists, after which he unbarred the door and ordered the negro to conduct him to Carter's room, first locking tho door bohind him and leaving McDuffle a prisoner. The frightened negro conducted the outlaw to Cartor's room, and under Burrows' orders knocked on the door and told him that McDuflio wanted him at the jail, Carter, recognizing the negro's voice, opened the door, when Burrows thrust a pistol in his face and demanded Uis money.
Carter sprang to the bed. where his pistol was lying, and, grasping it, turned quickly and iired almost at the same instant that Burrows fired. Carter was shot through thp breast above tho heart, but his bullet passed entirely through the body of Burrows. The outlaw staggered back from tho door to tho streoi, and a second shot from his pistol crashed through tho shoulder of John Marshall. Badly wounded as ho was, Carter rushed out into the street and fired four more shots at Burrows. The bandit emptied one of his pistols and reached down to his pocket for the second ono, but as he did so sank with a groan. Carter fell at tho same time. His wound is a dangerous ono. Tho body of Burrows was brought here in the afternoon and :in inquest will bo hold. [Altogether Uurrrows has robbed nlno trains In three £taton 1ms killed several and wounded many men with his deadly Winchester, and has whipped 100 armed men In open light. "Red Hube," as lie was culled In the terrorized region lie lived In, was physically a splendid specimen of manhood. He was about 3!) years of age, ami stood 6 feet 1 inch iu his stocking feel, weighing IT5 pounds. His llrst known crime was an attempt, In connection with 1:1s brother .laines and two other men. to rob an old colored woman, who opened tire upon tliem and drove them off. Then the quartette attacked a train that was taking water 2'. a small station and robbed tho passengers of f'-tH). The ln-xt exploit of the party was the robbing of a Texas l'acille express car, following which two of the gang, Bromley aud Thornton, were arrested and sent to the Texas penitentiary. Exercise Developes the Muscles,
Because it expands the blood vessels passing through them, thus enabling tho muscles toimbibe more iibrin and myosin, those properties of the bltfod on which they feed.
Among the other ingredients in the blood are protagon and and chelesterin. It is upon these that the nerves feed, and it is as easy to d3velop the vital force, that is the nervous organization, as it is to increase the muscular power.* In other words, the nerves can be strengthened is easily as themuscles by simply increasing the supply of protagon and cholesterin in the blood.
The effects of this davelopement of the nerves are felt mainly in two great nerve centers, the brain and sexual organs. In the brain, the effects obtained are increase of memory, power of perception, judgment, activity of thought and production of ideas. A healthy vigorous brain makes a quick thinker and a bright talker. In the sexual organs the efTect of this developement is to increase their vigor, making the weak strong and the strong stronger. To develope the vital force and increase the power as above described it is only
blood in-the form of protagon and cholesterin. Sappho Pellets not only stimulate the powers but being an actual nerve nourishment, are tonic and lasting in their effects. Their immediate results are of tho most pleasing aid satisfactory character. Eno«gh Pelle's for thirty days will be sent in a perfectly plain wrapper for one dollar.
