Of Edlnburg. Indiana. Since childhood I had been cross-eyod,which was a source of great annoyance to me. I thought ttiore was no euro and flrraly believed they could not be straightened, as they had been that way so long. I was, however, per»suaded by a friend to try
Dr. Barne's treatment. I ..called on him in August, 1890, and after a consultadon of a few minutes I resolved to try his treatrftient. Ilectralghtenod my
eyes in about 3 minutes. It Is now about three months since the operation was performed, and my eyos have been perfectly straight evor since. I am now 23 years of ago and my eyes had b«en crossed sinco I was about 2. I would not have my eye» like they were again for any amount of money and my friends say it adds greatly to my personal appcarance. I feel that I can not speak too highly of Dr. Barnos for what he has done for me, and advise all who aro afflicted as I was to call on him and be cured.

The most eflicient advertising' in behalf of Hood's Sarsaparilla is that which conies from the mediciue itself, That is those who are .cured by it, speak to friend? suffering similarly, who in turn derive benefit and urge others to try this successful medicine. •Thus the circle of its noularity ts rapidly wiilening.froin this cause alone, and, are more and more becoming enthusiastic in behalf of- Hood's

Here is something that can be relied upon. Seven Republican votes for Bible, five for tiobin, eleven for Hutton, twenty-three for Hunt, four for Moffet, sixteen for Fullen, and the Lord knows how many for Hon. E. V. Brookshire.
We were somewhat surprised at the remarks made in our presence a few days ago by a leading Republican In speaking of John L. Gobin. He said he was highly pleased with him as an officer, and that he did ali in his power four years ago to defeat him, but now he is sorry of it and expects tojupport him at the ballot box next month.
We have been informed that some of the candidates were told that certain Democrats would not support them. There never was a man nominated for office but what he had somebody to fear. It might be well enough for every man that wants to be elected to leave no stones unturned. We know of one man being elected in Montgomery county some few years ago by the large majority of one vote.
We suggest that each election inspector call a special meeting at some public place and give the legal voters of Montgomery county instructions as to how they have got to vo'e. There seems to be considerable diversity of opinion as to how it should be done, also in regard to stamping of the tickets, and the manner of folding the same. This may save a great, many votes from bei«g thrown out.

woman. They may hide their funny business for awhile but when it explodes look out for a stench that will surprise the natives.
If Bible had given the Star five hundred dollars for its support the Star would have been for him teeth and toe nails but Bible did not think the Star's Influence amounted to that much hence the charges the Star Is making against him, When it comes that a man with the unsavory reputation the Star has, will have the gall to do such things,
Mike Price, the man of brogue, ani who has the Irish vote in his pocket, a? he thinks, had better explain how he came to pay Lafayette parties more than home people for the same goods, or Fullen will run so far ahead of him he will not no be is on the ticket. The Irish people are too smart to be caught by a man simply because he can say be Jases and O'Rarity.
The Star says Bible has bought up all the saloons. In the paper that circulates throughout the country, the edition that is printed for town reading has that item out. Keeney must think all the|country people are temperance and the town people drunkards. Well if Bible owns all^tbe saloons Mr. Bandle will be in a boj for where will he dispose of his beer he bottles after the election. Surely Bible will not buy it and the Star will be his only customer. Old goggles will have to drink more than ever.
Mr. Bible and the editor of the Star, Mr. Keeney, were not| known to each other until the nomination of Bible. The editor of that sheet went to Bible and wanted the sum of five hundred dollars to support him with his paper. Mr. Bible would not accep*, and lo and behold! in a few, short weeks it comes out a full fledged Bandel paper. Now who used the money wrh the paper, Bandel or Bible? Can't the voter see in a moment why it was? Are we to trust the sheriff's offiGe in the hands of a inanlthat^will buy up the newspaper to sing hisjpraise?
A Word From Independent.
Thank?, Mr. (iogles of (be Star, for the flattry you make me feel proud by saying the editor of THE REVIEW writes pieces for his paper and signs names to them and tries to make people think that some one else wrote them. We never knew before that we could write that well. Now, Mr. moon-eyed gogles of the Star, if you have one hundred dollars that you have no use for put it up in some re sponsible hands and 1 will cover it, and will prove to you that the editor of THK REVIEW had no more to do with those items than tbe editor of the Star had. Put up or shut up is the way|"Independent" does, but like the lying cur you are, you will hunt your hole. You will not put up one cent. You knew you lied when you wrote the article. Now as to Mr. bible, I can bring several men who have determined to vote for Bible, and simply because they think you and your paper have sold out teeth and toe nails to Bandel! and his click. The gogle-eyed editor of the Star should be the last man in the world to attack the character of any person. The people have a recollection of bis conduct in matters not at all creditable to a decent citizen some years ago in Crawfordsville. Living in a glass house, he should not throw stones at others. Sweet scented night blooming cerius to be attacking the character of Mr. Bible. Mr. Bible can show a character that not one in five hundred can, and all the Star's spleen and spite will only make votes for him, and if he is not elected it will not be on account of the Star's slurs. In our next we will compare the characters and lives of the two candidates, Bandell and Bible, so tbe voters can see the truth and decide v.'hich man deserves the office of sheriff.
