Ironowned preparaI tion. No household, •with young children,
(, should be without it. Scores of lives ara saved every year by its timely use.
Amanda B. Jenner, Northampton, Mass., writes Common gratitude im~ pels me to acknowledge tho great benefits I have derived for my children from the use of Ayer's most excellent Cherry Pectoral. I had lost two dear children from croup and consumption, and had the greatest fear of losing my only remaining daughter and son, as they were delicate. Happily, I find that by giving them Ayer's Cherry Pectoral, on the first symptoms of throat or lung trouble, they are relieved from danger, and are becoming robust, healthy children." "In the winter of 1885 I took a bad cold which, in spite of every known remedy, grew worse, so that the family physician considered me incurable, supposing me to be in consumption. As & last resort I tried Ayer's Cherry Pectoral, and, in a short time, the cure was complete. Since then I have never bee* without this medicine. I am fifty years of age, weigh over 180 pounds, and attribute my good health to the use at Ayer's Cherry Pectoral."—G.W.Youker, Salem, N. J. "Last winter I contraoted a severe cold, which by repeated exposure, became quite obstinate. I was much troubled with hoarseness and bronchial irritation. After trying various medicines, without relief, I at last purchased a bottle of Ayer's Cherry Pectoral. On taking this medicine, my cough ceased almost immediately, and I have been well ever since."—Rer. Thos. B. Russell, Secretary Holston Conference and P. B. of the Greenville District, M. E. C., Jonosboro, Tenn.

Lafayette's Boom.
Lafayette is about to enjoy the pleasure of a boom—an increase in business and population. The O'Brien wagon works, Tiffin, Ohio, employing from 200 to 300 hands is soon to remove to that city. A large carpet factory from the East has already located there and is now erecting the buildings and machinery necessary for the business. A creinery is also to be established there at once. Contracts for the construction of the Belt railway are to be let next week, and everything now indicates that the Star City has, at last, awakened from its long sleep. The only thing to give any sorrow to fceir cup of joy is the fact that the Pettit trial will not come in that city, but in spite of this, they still have Helen M. Gougar, the artesian well and other great attractions still with them. SM
A Persian Murder.
¶ Late letters received from Persia give details of the murder of Mrs. John M. Wright, American Presbyterian missionary at Saimas, Western Persia, in April. A native school-teacher, half Armenian, half Syrian, killed her with a dagger in her own home in revenge for his discharge from her employ.
¶ Mrs. Wright was a historian, and was beautiful well educated and accomplished. Her father was a teacher at ancient Syriac in an Armeian College. She was married to Mr. Wright four years ago. They were in this country last year. Wright was a native of Ohio. The murder [murderer] is in custody.

Hunger is the Host. Simco.
As a rule, a person who has a good appetite has good health. But bow many there are who enjoy nothing they eat, and sit down to meals only as an unpleasant duty. Nature's antidotes for this condition are sh combined in Hood's Sarsaparilla that it soon restoreg good digestion, creates an appetite, and renovates and vitalizes the blood so that the beneficial effect of good food is imparted the whole body. Truly hunger is the best sauce, and Hood's Sarsaparilla induces hunger. '. 2\v-.Y
