It re. stores tho color to gray liair promotes a fresh and vigorous growth prevents the formation of dandruff makes the. hair soft and silken and imparts a delicate but lasting per. fume. "Several months 'ago my hair commenced falling out, and in a few weeks my head was almost bald. I tried many remedies, but they did no good. I finally bought a bottle of Ayer's Hair Vigor, and, after using only a part of the contents, my lieaa was covered with a heavy growth of hair. I recommend your preparation as the best in tho world."—T. Munday, Sharon Grove, Ky.

I have used Ayer's Hair Vigor for a number of years, and it has always given we satisfaction. It restores the natural color to gray hair, causes the hair to grow freely, and keeps it soft and pliant."—Mrs. M. V. Day, Colioes, N. Y. "My father, at about the age of fifty, lost all the hair from the top of his head. Alter one month's trial of Ayer's Hair Vigor the hair began coming, and, in three months, he had a fine growth of hair of the natural color."—P. J. Cullen, Saratoga Springs, N. Y.

Did Kot Live Here.

Speaking of strange and unexplainable disappearances Supt Travis, of the Indianapolis police force, tells a reporter of the Daily Sun the following: "Over ten years ago a prominent Crawfordsville attorney came here and stopped at the Grand hotel with Maj. Gordon. One morning bis hat was found in an alley between Georgia and Mnryland-sts. and running west to Illinols-st„ and as he hadn't shown up for a couple of days, his friends asserted that he had been fouly dealt with. Maj. Gordon came to me and reported the case, and I asked him if the gentleman's business affairs were straight. He grew angry and said of course they were—the man was above any such suspicion and the only cause of his absence was that ho bad been murdered and cast into a sewer. We worked industriously for several days upon that theory and found— nolliing. But those at his home for wnom he did business investigated and fouud him several thousand dollars short to an estate of which he bad charge." This may sound very pretty and romantic, but so far as it relates to Crawfordsville is untrue. No attorney of thi9 city has ever mysteriously disappeared and never reported or heard of afterward. "We believe, however, that an attorney of \Villiamsport unceremoniously disappeared about that time while in Indianapolis and was never afterwards seen.

hair to its original color, and for auressiog, it cannot be surpassed."—Mrs. Geo. La Fever, Eaton Rapids, Mich. "Ayer's Hair Vigor is a most excellent preparation for the liair. I speak •f it from my own experience. Its use promotes the growth of new hair and •takes it glossy and soft. The Vigor is also a cure for dandruff."—J.

The School Complimentary Business. The school commencement business this week so far as giving complimentary tickets of admission was concerned, was a first-class fraud and swindle, and tbe trustees should, hereafter, if they are in earnest in complimenting anybody with tickets, see that they are admitted. Speculation in tickets was carried on from first to last, some having to pay as high as a dollar to get in. School exhlDitions and commencement proceedings, are, and should be, free to everybody. We trust no such disgraceful proceedings as distinguished the school commencement business in the way of admissions this week will be known in the exercises to take place in the graduation of Btudents of Wabash college on the 18th, although some thrifty speculators may have such intentions in view. If tho school trustees permit such work in the future there will be no necessity of banding out complimentiaries to anybody but all tickets should be sold to tbe highest bidder and the whole thing turned into a speculation as the entertainment of this week seems to have been.

Barn Burned.

Last Sunday morning about 10 o'clock, the now barn belonging to J. S. Henry in Goaj Creek township was discovered to be on fire. There being no way to fight the flames, the fire rapidly spread and soon reached the granery. Comparatively nothing but the horses were saved from these buildings. By gallant work on tbe part of the neighbors the dwelling house was saved. In the barn and granery was consumed a wagon, harness, haying tools, meat, vegetables, hay, oats and 100 bushels of corn. The building was supposed to Lave been set on fire accidently by the small children of Mr. Henry who were playing in the barn at the time of the fire. The loss will reach between $8,00 and $1,000. There was $350 insurance on the baru and $50 on the granery in the Ohio Farmers' insurance coin' pany.

Drowned at Covington.

Rurus Q. Lliaman of Steele, Adams county, this state, aged twenty-two, and a student of the Indiana State Normal at Covington was drowned Friday night in Wabash River, below town while in swimming with five other students. Lhamau, J. P. Holmes, of Adams county, J. E. McKinney, Illinois, all stepped off a sand bar into a deep hole, and as none of them could swim, cries of help attracted aid, but before they could be rescued Lhamn was drowned. Holmes was taken out unconscious and McKiney also had a very narrow escape.

Dropped Dead.

Monday morning about S o'clock as Ed Douglas was setting in Law's stable on south Grant avenue he suddenly fell forward on his face and expired in a few minutes. He had been for some time subject to heart disease and to this can be laid the cause of her death. The deceased was 49 years old. He leaves a wife and several small children to inourn his loss. The funeral took place from the residence 011 Tuesday afternoon under the auspices of

Tho liroom that Sweeps C[enn. Swift's Specific is the besom of destruction "to blood poison, its destiny being to sweep from the face of the globe the deadliest scourge to which humanity has ever been subject.

S. S. S. antidotes and eliminates blood poison and makes a permanent cure, instead of substituting one disease for another, as is the case with the old potash aud mercury remedies.

S. S. S. leaves no bad effects. It is a tonic, and assists digestion and builds up the health, instead or causing indigestion and depleating the system as with potash aud mercury mixtures. s. S. S. is more infallible than any remedy ever made. A case of blood poison which it fails to cure is incurabio. It is the tonic which all feeble persons should take.
