HOEEIBLY MUTILATED!
ARE THE PRICES ON ALL GOODS AT THE
It is a fact that no house caa meet the prices at which this stock of clothing is going. Good pants from $1.50 up. The same goods cannot be had for double the price elsewhere. Broken suits without number at your} own price, about all you have to do is to carry them away, they are so cheap.
Competition is Terrified!
Because they cannot meet these prises so come along and help yourself to one of these bargains before the goods are all gone.
DO NOT FORGET THIS FACT
That the sale will be continued until the old Jake Joel store is closed out, so call ea rly and get advantage of these prices. The same goods could not be bought in the wholesale market, right now, for the prices I am sellinS them.
DO YOU WANT ANYTHING?
A suit, a coat, a ve«t or a pair of pants at hard time prices, here's the chance of a life-time. So trot along and join the procession. $5.00 will buy all the goods you can carry, for
THE GOODS MUST GO.
Tkere will l?e no reserve whatever. Kememember tlie place, OLD JAKE JOEL STORE, Main Street.

Don't Like Cantley.
The Delphi Journal thus opens out on Mr. John A. Cantley, a former school superintendent of this county, who Is now engaged in organizing branches of the "Farmers' Alliance. The Journal don't admire Cantley for his politics: "Many years ago a child was born la Clinton township, Cass county, and as soon a* it was able to voice the demands of appetite] and cry for fresh mush it made the statement that it was 'brought up between two rows of corn and rocked in a sugar trough.' The child was John A. Cantley, but was known in infancy as 'Sugar Trough Cantley,' Soon after this claim the child disappeared and waB lost to view until a few years ago, when the democracy of Cass county was beating the bushes in the hope of scaring out a candidate for the state legiblature. Then it was that a full-bearded, raw-boned specimen of masculinity jumped out into the view of the democratic party and claimed to be Cantly, the man who had been 'brought up between two rows of com and rocked in a sugar trough.' To establish his identity he showed a strawberry mark on his left arm. He was nominated by the (democracy and elected to the legislature, and ever since be has haunted the newspapers in his neighborhood, forcing on them free trade exudations and the rankest of bigoted democratic creeds. There could not be a Sunday school picnic, a corn husking or 'experience' meeting that 'Sugar Trough' was not on hand to lug in a hunk or so of free trade democracy, and as a consequence dissension and wrangle followed in his wake. "It is not, therefore, remarkable that this same Cantey is now traveling over this Tenth congressional district in the employ of the democratic state central committee, presumably organizing 'Farmers' Alliances,' but in truth shaping up organizations for the dissemination of the fanatical dogmas of free trade, which to-day constitute the foundation of the democratic party. Cantley has a smooth tongue, a self-oiler loose at both ends, and it is backed by a bland and lamb likejexpresslon ot countenance. Anyone not knowing Cantley, upon meeting him for the first |time and hearing his stories ot the present'unhappy condition of everything,'and his 'honest, non-par-tyism' opinion of the medicine that ought to be prescribed just now, would think him the fairest, most unselfish man on earth, and thatenough of the dust that once made martyrs had been left over to make Cantley. But he is a gay giddy, insinuating deceiver, and unless the farmers keep their weather eye open, Cantley will take them in. In organizing his Alliances' he introduces the element of secrecy always takes good care that the majority of the members are democrats. The object is to take in the less Intelligent republicans, and by associating them with smooth democrats worl^ on them until their minds are poisoned with the fallacious doctrine of Adam Smith and
Cobden, the free trade apostles of England."

Jumped the Train.
Wednesday night at the midnight vestibule train from Chicago left Monon for Indianapoiis a mulatto woman jumped froni the train. Her neck was broken, and besides she landed in a pond of water of considerable depth, and the body was found under water. The train men telegraphed back from Monticello, and the switch engine from Monon went down the track about two miles, whore the body was found. She was well dressed and was probably about thirty years of age. The coroner was summoned and the evidence from all was a recital of the above facts. The train men testified that she talked of suiciding before she reached Monon. She had a ticket from Duluth, Minn., to Hamilton, 0.
