Just before the sale was to have commenced, a Mr. Ritter, au agent for a Mr. Bnuiileubert,', of Cincinnati, came in with a bill of sale, settled the Crocker claim and was about to take the goods to the depot, when Fred Sieweke, to whom DeBruler owed $58, and Howard Shaffer, to whom he owed $16, came and filed attachment, but as Hitter had a clean bill of sale it looks like they will not be able to either hold their goods or collect their bills. There was a handsome lot of goods, as they included part of Mrs. DeHriiler's wedding presents.

NOTHING SUCCEEDS LIKE SUCCESS.—It lias heretofore been a mystery to us why strangerB are generally charged so extravagantly by hotels in large cities. Happening a short time since at the Gait House, corner Sixth aud Main streets, Cincinnati, Ohio, managed by W. E. Marsh, Jr., son of the proprietor who established the Gait House fifty years ago, the mystery was solved. The accommodations at the Gait House are equal in every respect to the best two-dollar per day hotel and yet the cbargeB are only $1.50 per day for meals aud room single mpals thirty-five cents. The Gait is headquartars for the most com plete meals, which, together with free use of the parlor, office, check-room, etc., constitute the greatest bargain obtainable iu the city. The solution is easy when the facts are known. The Gait is run exclusively in the interest of strangers, the Baine rate being charged per day, at all times, to everyone. Whatever will produce a reasonable rent for the property Is the extent of its charges, thus doing away witli the usual lesses's profits. Its management is constantly under the immediate and personal control of the owner, W. E. Marsh, Jr. Its employes being paid according to the volume of business, are efficient aud reasonable in cost. The above peculiarities, a low uDiform price, a reasonable reut-charge only, a rigorous and practical supervision of its internal affairs, and co-operative salary payment, have secured for the Gait a fair transient trade, and the experiment is a success, producing rent for the real estate. To this benefactor, who has made it possible to stay two day's in the city at the expense of one, we heartily reccomuieud our jriemls.
