l'mr. Powers, the optical specialist, who has been stopping at the Nutt Hotel parlors, has, while here, fully sustained his reputation as one of the most skillful men in the couutry in fitting and proscribing spectacles for all sorts of defective eyes. He has fitted up some of our leading citizeuB so as to make them see better than they ever thought possible. He will be here a few days longer. If you can't see well you cant afford to miss this opportunitytoseis him. He makes examinations free s, of charge.

Miss Edna Nicholson, lias just returned from Chicago where she purchased an elegant stock or line millinery for the spring and summer trade. Styles werejnever as pretty as this season, See her fine work.

What is Sunt or tin NaUonsil ycloiMfdiji I5y Those Who Keiitl n»l It.. have examined Periain's National JCyclopeilia and find it contains a vast amount of useful, accurate and carefully arranged information, peculiarly instructive to the farmer, stock-raiser, and fruit-grower. The definitions are clear, concise, and ample. I continually refer to it for information upon the various subjects upon which it treats. I am satisfied it would pay every farmer owning eighty acres of land and upwards to have such a work in the house." Very truly yours.

NOTHINti SU('CEHD" LIKR SUCVEs^.—r has heretofore been a mystery to us why strangers are generally charged so extravagantly by hotels 111 large cities. Happening a short time since at the Gait House, corner Sixth and Mam streets, Cincinnati, Ohio, managed by W. E. Marsh, Jr., son of the proprietor who established the Gait, House fifty years ago, the mystery was solved. The accommodations at the (ialt House are equal in every respect to the best two-dollar per day hotel and yet the charges are only $1.50 per day for meals and room single meals thirty-five cunts. The (/alt is headquartars for the most com plete meals, which, together with free use of the parlor, oflice, check-room, etc., constitute the greatest bargain obtainable in the city. The solution is easy when the facts are known. The (ialt is run exclusively in the interest of strangers, the same rate being charged per day, at all time?, to everyone. Whatever will produce a reasonable rent for the property is the extent of its charges, thus doing away with the usual lesses's profils. Its management is constantly under the immediate and personal control of the owner, W. E. Marsh, Jr. Its employes being paid according to the volume of business, are eflici-Mitand reasonable in cost. The above peculiarities, a low uniform price, a reasonable reut-charge only, a rigorous and practical supervision of its internal affairs, and co-operative salary payment, have secured for the (ialt a fair transient trade, and the experiment, is a success, producing rent for the real estate. To this benelacnir, who has made it possible to stay two day's in the city at'he expense of one, wo heartily reccommend our friends.
