The Crawfordsville doctors have organized a gun club. Inasmuch as Lafayette has several crack shots among the local medical fra ternity it might not be a bad idea to arrange a match between the M. D.'s of the two cities —Lafayette Journal.
A number of citizens of Lafayette who desire that place to resume its old timo reputa' tion for business push and energy, propose to build a belt railroad some seven miles iu length around that city, and tho commissioners have ordered an election for all tax-payers to attend and vote for or against it. No ssoner is this done than a few old foggies who would be much more useful In ornamenting Bix foot space in a grave yard than any where else, commence proceedings to enjoin the commls sioners from calling an election. It is re. gretted that so many cities and towns are cursed with such drones, who always stand in the way of the march of improvement. La' fayette seems to have her full quota of them. They would be willing to fence tho city in—if it did not cost too much to furnish the posts and lumber.
