The old dilapidated church at this place is a shame and disgrace to the place and members, It is not safe to be inside of it, and it is liable to fall down at any time, Now there are members of this very church that, can count their wealth by the ten thousands, where there are members that have to work hard for a living that are not able to give much to build a new house to worship in yet they are willing to do I what they can. 11 is time the subject, of build1 ing a good church was being talked of.

Col. John Lee, Maurice and W. H. Thompson, J. M. Sellar, and Senator Mount are all ex-inembers of our literary society. Their maiden speeches were made iu our hall.

Tuesday was a gala-day 01 our neighborhood. It was tht! closing of A. D. Kellison's school. Notwithstanding the inclemency of the weather, the patrons gathered in with filled baskets, and at Ihe noon hour a grand dinner was spread at which all feasted.
