We noticed the absence of the Hog Heaven letter but, did not miss the news. Billy Tomlinson says the roads are good after he get to them. We pity the horse.
Frank Nolan, who has been sick, took dinner with Miss Minnie Murdock on Sunday. Rev. Quilian, assisted by Brother Maxwell and wife, held meeting at Mouut Pleasant last week.
Thomas Carroll, of Henton county, was called here by the illness of his uncle, Michael Carroll.
The Superintendent visited the schools of this place. We were all well pleased with his speeches.
The wood-choppers of this place cannot chop with the Hog Heaveners, but they will do nice work and cannot be beaten.

Mary Keho died Wednesday morning after a long struggle with consumption. She was a bright girl, well thought of, and a good school teacher for one of her age.
Louise, the infant daughter of Prof. Warfel, was buried Monday evening. The fuueral was conducted by Rev. Carson, of the Presbyterian church. Cause, whooping cough.
J. M. Harsh barger has not yet returned from Washington City, where he aud Mrs. Harshbarger have been spendiug a month on a visit to their daughter, Mrs. E. V. Brookshire.
