Jacob Swank, of this vicinity, is visiting friends in Missouri. He wrote a letter home Christinas day stating everything was 111 bloom, and sent a flower home plucked right from the bush. '*f~p j.

Miss Mollie Mclntiro was agreeably surpris-' ed on last Monday, it being the 24th anniversary of her birth. A host of relatives and friends gathered at the parental domicile, where a fine feast was spread and enjoyed. After dinner was served the table preseuted a scene of desolation, mince pies being gorged into fragments and hot biscuits scattered broadcast. The plates were licked clean, and nothing now remains but the greasy dish water and the running-gears of the old turkey-gobler, which can now be seen bleaching in the sun on the south side of the smokehouse, near the garden fence.

Mrs. Fannie and Lucinda Booher, Miss Ella McNicholl and Miss Bertha Booher were at the funeral at Frankfort last Sunday of Will Avery, who died last week at Eureaka Springs, Arkansas.

Billy Wheeler, formerly of this place, but now of Washington, is with home folks and will remain for several weeks. Mr. Wheeler is an engineer aud has had charge of a locomotive, 111 the West for two years.
