The Christian church trustees completed a r.ide on Monday. First they bought the Fred aidner property, then traded it to George 'nwau for his Main street property, where they will build their church. This house they sold to James 11. Canine, who will remove it to the svest end of Howard s.reet. The trustees have about $2,500 pledged for their church infilling, which will be of brick, and of the atest design.

Miss Ora Rivers, who has been visiting friends and relatives near Steam Corner for the past week, returned home on last Saturday.

C. C. Ellis and Miss Ella Hughes were married on Christinas day at the home of the groom. The friends of the young couple wish thein a happy life.

Elbert Aiuinerinan and Miss Birdie Brown, the handsome daughter of John E. Brown of Ripley township, were married on Christmas day. The young couple was numbered among Alamo's best society, and we hope that their newly wedded life will be smooth sailing with very few troubles to cross their threshold.

Our kind friend, John Wert, was married to Miss Phoebe Neese one day last week by Squire Sanders at his residence near Wallace. Mr. Wert is a prominent farmer, and is to be congratulated on capturing Miss Neese for a bride. The Hornet extends its best wishes and hopes that not a single trouble will darken their married life.

A grand hop at Hulet Hall Christmas eve. Over two hundred people preseut and five cotillions on the floor all the time. Every thing passed off quietly so far as we have learned.

Three little Misses, Nina and Blanche Howard and Mamie Boolier vi3ited us Tuesday and treated the office to the candy. The names of two of them are on the roll of honor iu the Primary department of our schools.

Miss Bertha Boolier had a nice birth day partv Saturday night. IS of her associates assembled at her father's residence, aud fun, games and cakes were the order of tho evening. she was as the poet says, "just sweet sixteen."

Hr. Owsley took 37 premiums at the Craw* fordsville poultry fair, 89 straights and 8 specials. Notwithstanding there were over 800 competitors in the ring, he scooped in 14 first premiums. He took first prize on a Plymouth Rock cockeral against 100 other eutries. He bad 7 breeding pens, 4 pens White Wyandotts, two of Plymouth Rocks and ono of Black Minorcas. He had two White Leghorns that mptured 1st prize. A very high compliment was pa?d the Dr. by the President of the Indiana State Poultry association in reference to his conception of the requisites necessary to first-class fowels. What we said in regard to ribbons, millinery, etc., is almost as near facta as fiction. 'Rah for Darlington again!
