Miss Mellie Shots is under the weather with throat trouble. Asocial dance occurred last Tuesday night, A pleasant time was reported.

Hon. B. W. Hanna and family ate dinner with friends here last Sunday. Paris Sims left for bis home in Little Rock, Arkansas last Monday evening,

S. B. Grove and niece, of Goose Nibble called on friends here last Saturday. The Harris brothers have the contract of sawing wood for several of the neighbors.

Miss Nora Hawk, of Chicago, Is in this neighborhood visitiug friends and relatives. Vannie Patton sold twenty-five head of pigs last Tuesday which averaged 214% per head.

A gentleman by the name of Cline from Crawfordsvllle, was here buying fat cattle this week.

Several of our boys took in the show Monday night at Crawfordsville, and pronounced it good.

Scott Dewey says he has plenty of "backbone" to spare for he slayed four of the porkers last week.

J. Lynch Is the champion rabbit hunter of these parts. He and Old Dash makes life a burden to rabbits.

There are two young ladies of this locality that are making quilts and carpets—it looks a little suspicious.

Eph Mears, of near Crawfordsville, Sundayed here with his brother Charley who is bad sick with typhoid fever.

Tom Lynch accidently fell into the creek last Monday, and received the first bath that he has taken for five years.

James Miller, our veterinary surgeon, saved the life of a fine horse one night last week belonging to Charles Cenrow.

The people of this part would like to know what haB become of Young Kennedy. He has not been seen since harvest.

There is too much talk in the neigborhood, and a certain person will get into troublejunless he looks a "leedle oudt"

Drs. Black and Washburn, of New Rich mond are the fellows whom all the people call in when they wish to get well.

Patton's school was visited last Friday by the Quinine school, and a jolly good time wa9 reported by all that were present.

Geoge King, a Bon of H. B. King, is very low with typhoid fever. There are four new cases of typhoid fever in this locality

Misses May Elmore, Lydia Crowder, Lulu Trimble, Alice Martin, and Messrs. Hally Sutton, Wallace Cox, Fred Castor and Carper Crowder have formed a glee club to be known as the "jubilee singers of Dixie." They are hard to excell In the old "plantation melodies.

The question, resolved: "That pride and ambition have caused more misery to the human race that ignorance and superstition" was discussed with ability by our debating club Tuasday night. The decision was given in favor of the affirmative. If the Willow Grove society want to find their equalB they need not go so far away to find them as St. John and Helen on the Wabash.
