THE CRAWFORDSVILLE WEEKLY REVIEW

27 EEB CENT. DIFFERENCE:

Teats Showing the Strongest and Most Economical linking 1'owiler. Some valuable tests have been made by the Government chemists as to the practical strength and usefulness of baking powders. Efforts are continuously made to introduce inferior baking powders, the statements being published that they are as pure, or as strong as the "Royal." Such powders are sold to consumers at the pure Royal, but being deficient in strength, are more expensive in use. besides making inferior or unwholesome food. These low class powders are frequently exposed by the public analysts. Publications have recently been made by the Price Baking Powder Co., the obvious purpose of which was to rid themselves of the exposure of the inferiority or low test of the baking powder which they manufactured.

The tests by the Government chemists and also by Prof. Chandler, of the New York Board of Health, revealed the fact that Price's powder contained 27 per cent, less strength than the "Royal."

When compared in money value, this difference would be as follows: One pound can Royal baking powder worth 50 cents:

One pound can Price's worth 86 cents. The public are indebted to the Royal Baking Powder Company for the fight they have been making for years past to break up the practice of substitutiug alum, phosphates, lime, etc., as cheap substitutes for cream tarter, as wall as short weights and low test in baking powders, and it is hoped that the "stop thief" cry will not prevent that company from continuing the exposure of all who are engaged in the nefarious business of palming upon the public cheap or injurious baking powder at the samo price at which a pure and wholesome article is sold.

The Royal Baking Powder has the commendation of the most noted chemists in the country for its purity and freedom from every substance 0! an injurous nature. Its manufacturers will receive the support of all consumers for the fearlessness of their crnsade again all manuer of food frauds.

SCROFULA FROM CHILDHOOD.

After Being Treated by Eminent Physicians he is Cured by S S. S. The following is an extract takes from a letter received from Mr. T. A. Sizemore, of Piedmont, S. C., and written under date of Nov. 6,1888. "I am now twenty-eight years old and from the time I was seven years of age until 1885,1 suffered with a severe case of scrofula. During that time I took every known remedy, but to no purpose. My father took me to North Carolina, where I was put under the treat inent of an eminent physician. The medicines given me had only a temporary effect, for shortly after my return the scrofula broke out in a more malignant form and I was worse off that ever before.

In 18851 discontinued taking all other medicines and commenced taking Swift's Specific (SSS.) I took a number of bottles and it cur ed me. I have been free from scrofula from that time until now."
