Twenty-six bushels of wheat was stolen from the widow Loug, the particulars of which are as follows: A noise was heard at the barn and party of men went to investigate and upon approaching the barn lot a team of horses and a wagon was going out at the gate. At this juncture a man alighted from the same aud "skipped by the light of the 010011." It is said that the man was Win. l'hillips. The team was captured, but Phillips still remains a free man.

Canine & Deer have bought over 100 head of horses and mules in the last eight weeks. They bought 41 head of mule colts last Friday, averaging $50 a head. A premium of §10 was offered for the best mule brought in, which was taken by James Allen, of Alamo.
Never has our school been so crowded as at present. Two more teachers are required, says Prof. Evans, to put the school in good working oriier, but (here is at present 110 money to pav more teachers. There are 71 pupils enrolled in the primary department, and more to follow, and as one teacher cannot care for so many, half of them come in the forenoon and the remainder in the aftoruoon.
