The business part of town had a narrow escape from another fire on Tuesday evening. About 8 p. m, Martin Foster discovered flames issuing frem the stable in the rear of the Central house and gave the alarm in time to extinguish the fire, after burning quite a large hole in the floor. There is a mysterious appearance about this. A night watchman would be a good investment here.
The retirement from the Central house of A. J. Miller leaves our little city without a hotel* Mr. Dietrich will fit up the house as a residence it is said. A good, commodious hotel is badly uoeded here. The Central was so small that no money could be made in it. When an unusual number of strangers were here they could not be accommodated. We must have a hotel and the man that has the enterprise to put up a good one and conduct it right will reap quite a harvest.
