About leveuty live persons sat down to dtuuer. After dinner 1 hey listened to Dr. Russell's poem, strolled over the grounds, played croquet and spent a very pleasant day. For the first time in many mouths the cry of "fire" was heard iu our peaceful hamlet last Saturday afternoon. The flames had started iu a small barn ou the premises or Mrs. Hodshire. From this the fire was communicated to the neighboring barns of J. C. Routson and Mre. Reyuolds. All were totally destroyed. J. M. Loose Red Clover Co., Detroit.—Two years ago I was afflicted with a Tery severe attack of Erysipelas. After two physicians bad used their treatment for several weeks and I continued growing blind, and their dlaguoBi concluded that there was no earthly help or hope for me. I gave up, having tried all the remedies I kDew or heard or. My neighbor, Mr. Miller, came in to see me oue day, and said to try Loose's Extract of Red Clover, as he had known of its working remarkable cures. I told him I had lost all hope, that nothing would do me any good iu this world. He insisted, and taking his hat went to the drug store and bought me one bottle and urged me to try it, which I did. Tt*n days afterwards I sent for two more bottles, and it was wonderful how I improved. I continued using it aud to-day I am better than I have been iu years. No sign of erysipelas has shown itself and I heartily recommend it to suffering humanity as the greatest aud best blood purifier iu existence.

Our readers have doubtless often noticed that Hood's Sarsapariila is well spoken of iu the newspapers. The Press is quick to recognize merit, and does not hesitate to give praise where it is due'. The following is from the Baptist Weekly, a leading religious paper: "Advertising may bring an article prominently before the public, but uo advertising cau help it if it has not real merit. Hood's Sarsapariila is well advertised but the best proof of its value is that so many persons use it on the recommendations of friends who have proved its peculiar virtues." A.17-4t
