A. J. Snyder & Sons bought a fine lot of oats from Albert Parker, of Scott's prairie, on Wednesday.
H. C. Hall is getting a large lot of lumber sawed out, preparatory to building a suitable house and pens for his hogs.
The water was let out of the dam at the woolen mills last Saturday evening for the purpose of making some repairs thereon.
A. J. Snyder & Sons have disposed of a large amount of wheat for seeding purposes, a great deal of which has been shipped to Putnam county. The farmers of Putnam know a good thing when they see it.
Last Saturday afternoon Jiuimie Walters hitched a horse to his brother Will's buggy to make a trip to Alamo, when the horse fright eued and ran away, breaking the buggy all to smash. Later on he borrowed a road cart of Harry Bard and with another horse thought to go to Waynetown, when it took fright, ran away and broke the cart into kindlings. Jlm111 ie was considerably bruised but not seriously hurt.

Quite an interesting game of ball was played at the Cross Roads last Saturday, between White's All Sorts and Bristle Ridge, score, 17 to IS in favor of the all sorts. White leaves en open challenge for any club in the State.
Look out for blood, foi Link Miller and Bill Snyder are coming together. It seems that Miller owes Snyder and when SnyderRasked him for the money it made him mad and he wanted to fight. Snyder tlirowed his coat but Miller pulled a dirk on him and hejcarried the mail. Tho last seen of him I10 was going through Hog Heaven like a whirlwind. Who will be the next?

The Hornet of last week tells of another fishing exploit ot Joe and John Taylor and AI. Webster. This is a jolly crowd who generally see that nothing is left that has any resemblance to a good timo. John Taylor is the masher of the party while Joe Taylor looks after the fish. Dan Thompson formerly accompanied them but he always tells what they do so they left him at home.
