FATAL EXPLOSION.

Two Amateur Mechanics Meet an Awful Fato. PHILADELPHIA, June 24.—Harry and William Jesser, aged 15 and 17 years respectively, living at number 012 South Third street, were killed Saturday by the explosion of an old range boiler with which they were experimenting. A boy named Henry Kniese was cut in the face and Mrs. Flora Kniese was badly scalded about the back. The Jesser boys were fond of mechanical experiments and were using the old boiler to generate steam, which ran a miniature engine. The steam passed through gas-pipes from the boiler to the engine. The boys intended to attath the engine to an ice-cm am freezer so that hand turning could be dispensed with. While Harry was oiling the engine and Willie was banking the fire with bricks a arrific explosion occurred, which was felt for blocks around. Both boys were hnrled some distance and struck with Hying brinks and pieces of metal. Harry died instantly and Willie lived only an hour. The little Kniese boy and his mother were watching the experiment from an adjacoot shed.

Struck It Kich.

GRANITE, M. T., June 24.—Edwin Moore, of St Louis, and Michael Moore, of New York, brothers, who recently arrived here, have jumped a portion of tne town site of Granite, estimated to be worth 95,000,000, under the law permitting the locations of mineral laud, and indications are that they will be able to hold it Tho Moores have for some time been engaged in sinking an artesian well, and Saturday a portion of the borings was assayed and panned out $1,700 to the ton in gold. Tho general impression is that tho ledge discovered by the Moores Is the richest in the Territory, and already the town is overrun with prospectors from Helena and Deadwood.
