Terrihle Murder In Vermilion County. A special to the Terre Haute Express gives but partial particulars of a most brutal murder near the village »f Highland last Tuesday. It appears that two sons of Wm. Pearman and two sons of Dave Douglass, residents of Highland, had a grudge against a boy named Snyder and had threatem-d to "do" the latter up. The boys' ages range from 9 to 15 years. Last Tuesday the tour first mentioned called for young Snydtr and wanted him to go bathing witli them. He refuBod and said they wanted to kill him. They went away but soon afterward returned and said they were only "codding" in saying they wero going to "do" him, and he went along. Young Snyder not returning at the proper time the other boys were questioned but affected ignorance of his whereabouts. Finally the youngest one said he would show Mr. Snyder where his son was last seen aud conducted the gentleman to the bank of Raccoon creek. After a short search In the water youug Snyder's body was fished out. There were knife stabs on the body and a bullet hole in the head. One knife stab just above an eye, had entered the skull, and the braids were oozing out of it.

National Union Supply Association. Among the new enterprises lately established is what is termed the Nation Union Supply Association, most of the members of which reside in this city. The president is Prof. Patterson, late of Wabash College. Geo. Wasson is treasurer, while W. W. Ewing, late county superintendent, and J. W. Henry are both connected with it. Its business is to supply the public or those becoming members of it with articles of daily use in the household or upon the farm, such as furniture, agricultural implements, musical instruments, watches, clothing and a great many other articles. A catalogue' of their goods is just published. Membersaresupplied with goods at 50, 33 and 25 per cent cheaper than they are sold in the regular trade. A large number of agents are starting out to work for the concern, some ten or twelve having left ou Monday and Tuesday. The entire United States is their field, and by September over 100 agents will be out at work for this supply association.

The large barn belonging to Daniel Garwood caught fire Thursday night about 10 o'clock, and burned to the ground, together with a wagon, buggy and farming implements of varous kinks. The bucket brigade was soou on hands but the 5re was so hot no one could get near it. Had there been afire engine the barn might have been saved, for there was a large fish pond but a few steps away. His body was cut in two at the hips and his head was severed from the trunk. The fall whs accounted for by tho fact that he had a crippled hand aud could not support himself properly. For Ladies Only.

Ladies—why is it, that when your husbaud or your children are ill, you consult the best physician at once, care for them day aud night, wear yourself out with sleepless watching, aud never begrudge the heaviest doctor's bill, if only the dear ones are restored to health while day after day, week after week, you eudure that dull pain in your back—that terrible "dragging down" sensation—and do absolutely nothing to effect a cure? In a few years you will be a helpless invalid, and soon your broken-hearied husband and motherless children will follow you to the grave. Perhaps delicacy prevents you consulting a physician— but even this is not necessary. Poor sufferer, tell your husbaud how miserably you feelperhaps you never did—and ask him to stop to-night and get you a bottle of Dr. Pierce's

Kliocli.
