NEW RICHMOND.

Dr. Dutchon has opened in the new editon the alleys and streets.

Mrs. Alice Sarier and daughter, ot Crawfordsville visited here last week. Buch Belt, an old citizen, but now setting brakes for the railroad, ib visiting here.

A great amount of uew engiues have been put on the rail road here. The.v are "daisies." A party of beggars went through our town last week. They were a horrible looking set.

Ward vs. Dewey was tried before hiB "Honnah" Squire Ebrite last Friday for possession of property.

Mr. Lee, has formed a partnership with Mr. Smock and will run the saw mill in connection with the tile factory.

The big Indian who gave a show here last fall dropped in a few days ago on a visit. He says this is the best cnuutry he ever saw, oil in all.

The lady who wants the children to siug bass at the child's day, had better look at the wishes of other people before she goes further.

The white cap letter written from this place to the Review, did not contain facts. Let those who write, write something near the truth.

The Dagoes are thick along the line of rail road that pervades this place. Where they all come from is a mystery and where they wiii go is a still greater oue.

yuite an excitement was caused last Sunday evening in the village and threats to shoot were indulged in by some acquainted parties. As yet no one lias bit the dust.

We are informed by members of the Christain church that there is a certain man visits the church who will when the church is over crowed keup his seat and let the ladies stand up or sit on the hard chairs. He will give nothing towards church enterprise, and this hint is given him and if not sufficient his uame in full will appear.

Several parties are talking of starting a lumber yard here and the one that first starts will reap the reward. Our village needs an enterprise of that kind and a better location does not exist than here and also the one that handdies lumber should also handle coal, as there is a large amount of it sold hero when it could be got. Who will be the first to start the lumber and coal business in this place.

Have all of Montgomery county's rich meu paid their taxes? Honestly it looks queer that upward of two hundred could be found in Tippecanoe who had failed to give iu their property, as they should have done and not oue in all Montgomery county, that has misrepresented to the assessor as to his wealth. Let all be made to pay taxes and it will make it easier on the honest lax payer.

The tax payers, of Coal Creek township, that is the poor, who pay taxes on their little all, are kicking and say there are people living here who don't pay the fourth of the taxes they should. We will say to Prosecutor Anderson can't you make these fellow pay their taxes the same as the Prosecutor of Tippecanoe county has done? It will make taxes on the poor but honest man lighter. This is one of the needs of the hour and the tax payers are waking up all along the line. We wait for results.

Our little village now contains in business, two barber shops, two dry goods aud grocery stores combined, one grocery store, one livery stable, one drug store, three doctors' offices, oue saloon, one tailoring establishment, one jeweler, one undertaker, one confectioner, one carpenter shop, one depot aud telegraph office, one broom maker, two carpet weavers, two paint shops 1 g. o, p. post office, two dress makers, one hotel, one elevator, two churches school house, one hardware store, one butcher shop aud tile maker, and all reported as doing well, yet there is room for several other businesses and no doubt they would pay as this is the best villiage the state of its size. Do yon hear my horn?

The post office now being kept iu a black smith shop is quite a recommendation to the town. When it comes that party strife runs so high that our public offices are run iu the interest of ringster, beats aud things we say it is quite time to call a halt. Does Col. Burford,a inau inCrawfordsville,12miles from this place, set himself up to run ourafairsb It is time to set down on him aud a party that upholds that kind of business. We had a nice place here in the ceuter of town for the post office and all were pleased, with the exception ot one greedy cuss, and now presto change the office is kept in the part of town, least traveled aud where it is hard for patrons to reach. All for party spirit aud Col. Burford.
