THE CRAWFOKDnVlLLli WliEKLY REVIEW
A White Cap Scare Dissolve*.
MR. EDITOR: The article published in the REVIEW week before last, signed '.'White Caps," proves to be the product of an ass's cranium who desired to thus thrust himself into public notoriety. The article pertained to the misfortunes of a "young and pure orphan girl"' that the would be White Cap desires so blood-thirstily to avenge. Upon careful investigation this young and innocent creature proves to be not so youug, one that has had a like difficulty before and is now endeavoring to put a crime, whoso chief punishment should fall upon her own head, upon the name of an innocent person, from whom she would pluck the almighty dollar. The party that wrote the letter to the REVIEW is known to us, and when lirst sent in the article seemed to bear the stamp of truth. After fmdiug out our mistake, however, in thue unwittingly injuring an innocent person, we desire to do the justice due him. We believe in shielding the innocence of our young women. Our homes are the units that go to make up our gieat nation, but when it comes to unprincipled scoundrels striving to make these occasions breastworks from behind which they may shoot their shafts of spite and personal grievances, we say down with such brazen hypocrisy. Let the "White Cap" that brays so loudly for justice in Coal Creek have some of the medicine he so boldly prescribes for others, and we think it might take some of the leprouB spots from his diceaBed moral anatomy. INVESTIGATOR.
Decline in L«itigution.
Speaking of the removal of Paul, Thompson and Humphries, all well known attorneys of this bar, to the weBt, an attorney the other day said: "I wonder that more of the lawyers here don't leave. Business is dreadfu'ly dull here with all of us, I think that I can safely say that withiu the past eight years business in our courts has fallen off from 83 to 50 per cent. None of the attorneys are overworked or even half worked, and it is simply because there is not the business to do. There are no more eximsive causes in the gravel road or ditch business, no criminal causes that count anything in (lie way of practice. People are more disposed to compromise rather than spend money in any loug vexatious suits iu court. I doubt very much whether there Is a lawyer iu Crawfordsville who after making a living can batik ,000, or even half of it in a year. Thornton going to Indianapolis takes another lawyer from this leld aud yet with the departure of these four attorneys there are yet too many here for the business to be doue. Every student reading law here as soon as admitted considers it necessary to open an office in Crawfordsville, and in consequence he for years ekes out a miserable existance and injures to some extent the busiuess of all the rest. Tom Patterson went west, opened an office in Denver and is now rich. If more of our attorneys would do likewise they might fare equally as well. Good evening."
Reveries of a Tramp.
One of those Isbmealitic individuals kuowu as a tramp, came into the REVIEW office one morning this week to beg some exchanges to read. Rough, unkeuipt and somewhat dirty appearing as they all generally seem, he at the same time was possessed of some considerable intelligence. Meditating on bis life and calling he said: "I have lived some fourteen years in what Is considered a part of the gas belt of this State, at New Castle, Indiana. I was out of work, and the gas belt is overrun with men wanting work iu all lines of business, so I started out on a tramp. No one can imagine its hardships. The whole world turns a cold shoulder to you and tells you to move on. However much you may desire work they will give you none. They don't believe anything you say. You are a tramp. That is enough. Clear out. A woman here in town wauted six cords of wood sawed and her yard cleaned up. I went there to get the work, but so soon as she ascertained I was a tramp that was enough. She said a colored man was to do it. I suppose this was a lie and was only told to get rid of me. If a tramp you must move on and on forever. The world is greatly to blame for the excessive meanness of the tramp fraternity. Many of them would gladly work and lead honest lives if they were not treated like mad dogs.
I am going north toward Lafayette and unless I cau catch a limited cattie train will probably find the walking good. Good bye."

This rather celebrated individual was liberated from the northern prison, Saturday, and lias arrivee home at Iudianapolis. Tho Salvation Army, or the remnant of it, has about ceased to exist. It was established here about two and a half years ago, and for a time prospered finely, but has since dwindled down to only three or four members. The army, with its noisy drums and tambourines and execrable singing, may have done some little good, but for a year or more has been but little better than a first-class nuisance.

GENTLEMEN—I have been a sufferer from nervous headache for twenty years and owing to a general enfeebled coudltiou of my nervous system I was continually tired, worn out and able to accomplish but little each day. 1 have used two bottles, and am rejoiced at the results. I am no longer aillicted with that terrible nervous headache, and now, when I am the least bit weary, a few doses of Zoa Phora takes it all away aud refreshes me. My sleep is sound and my general health is better tliau for yeats previous to its use. It has proven a groat relief to me in eradicating the bearing down pains and backaches so geueral aud peculiar to my sex. I shall continue to reeominend it to my neighbors and acquaintances, and hope to always have it in my house. Auy lady wishing to test the authenticity of this letter can do so by writing to me. Very truly yours,
LATER RETURNS.
Again, April Dth, 18S8, Mrs. Fisher writes in answer to a lady who wrote her for more information: "I have used four bottles. Zoa Phora thoroughly regulates monthly sickness and renders it almost painless."
I: INDIANAPOLIS, IND., Feb. 1,1888. Zoa Phora Co.: SIRS—I wish to express our thanks for what your medicine has done for me and mine. I got your circular when my baby was about a month old. That Tired Feeling'
Season is here again, and nearly every one feel weak, languid, and exhausted. The blood laden with impurities which have been accumulating for months, moves sluggishly through the veins, the mind fails to think quickly, and the body is still slower to respond. Hood's Sarsaparilla is just what is needed. It is, in a peculiar sence, the ideal spring medicine. It purifies, vitalizes, and enriches the blood, makes the head clear, creates an appetite overcomes that tired feeling, and imparts new strength and vigor to the whole body. M-1S-4
