Thousands of office-seekers are in Washington working for places iu the government service, while hundreds of thousands have sent their applications to men iu Congress, so says a Washington special and it also tells of some greedy Hoosier. "Jeems" T. Johnston, oj Parke, wants to be Commissioner of Pensions. Poor Jim! One Indiaua man lias sent in an application for a friend in Missouri, and Gen. Wallace lias applied for his white horse friend, Dickey, to be governor of one slice of Dakota. They all want it, and to be a Hoosier in this age is betthan to be a democratic office holder.

Extraordinary License.
"It seems to mo," remarked one ot our citizens tho other day, "that physicians are allowed extraordinary license 111 the manner iu which they juggle with the welfare of their patients." "Now here is Dr. who was attending Mr. up to the time of his death, ami he treated him for a dozen different disorders, First the doctor said pneumpnia was tho trouble theu it was consumption. iTlieu the patient was dosed for heart trouble, and so on until just before he died it was ascertained that disease of the kidneys was the rea^ trouble ami that which had been at first treated as pneumonia, consumption, heart disease, etc., were but Hie symptoms of the kidney disease. •'But then it was too late." "This is only one case in a hundred,' and I am beginning to loose faith ill the doctors altogether. I11 fact I haven't had any need for their services since I began to keep Warner's safe cure in my house, a little over three years ago. Whenever I feel a little out of sorts I take a few doses of it, confident that the source of all disease is 111 the kidneys, which I know Warner's safe cure will keep iti good order, and will eradicate any disease that may be irkiug there. Had Mr. followed a similar course, I have 110 doubt that he would be alive to-day but of course all people don't thirk alike. "One tiling is certain, however, and that is the doctors are allowed a little too much freedom in the way they have of pretending to know that which they really know nothing about. If they don't know what is the real trouble with the patient they sliuld admit it. and not on and experiment at the cost of the patient's life." •..••••••.

Weight of Words.
There is a shade of difference even in synonymous words if not in their meaning, surely ill their weight and impression. We speak of a thing as a "relief," a "remedy," "an alleviation" when we desire to express something stronger. Those who employ St. Jacob's Oil for aches and pains ot all kinds find that it "cures '.' that's the word. It penetrates, finds the pain spot and cures cures promptly, cures permanently 110 return of pain, and this is testified to by hundreds. See published testimony wherein it it is sliowu how it cures and stays cured.
