Every one enjoyed themselves at the party given at Samuel Hampton's Sr, on Thursday night.

Our present winter term of school expired last Wednesday, with Miss Cornelia Cunningham ar teacher.

Coleman school house is situated about three miles east of Darlington, on the Tborntown and Darlington, old toll road.

The last day of school the patrons and neighbors gave a fine dinner at the school houso. Twenty-five patrons and neighbors gathered in to aid iu devouring the well prepared turkey, chickens and fine large cakes. In the afternoon we were all well entertained with declamations, dialogues aud singing. Daily average attendance during term of four months and twelve days was 28X with enrollment of 27 pupils. Very good daily attendance. We found the walls nicely and artistically decorated with cedars, grass] bouquets, large framed pictures, great many pretty ornament made by pupils from tissue paper. The room had the appearance more of an abiding place of a family than of a school room. But why not decorate the school room and made it more attractive than it usually is? As it is theteachers aud pupils home ot a week aud from four to five months,

Miss Maggie Booe, of Steam Corner, visited here over Sunday, the guest of Ben Gray and wife.

Rev. Hickman filled the M. E. church appointment here Sunday, aud Kev. Fuson at the Baptist church.

The Hornet's libel suit is set for next Saturday, and that paper is now renovating the character of Charles Haas iu good style.

J. M. Birdcell left Monday morning for Groesheck, Ohio, where lie goes to attend the bedside of his mother, who is very sick.

Prof. Frank Lee's entertainment was not much of a success financially, although those that did attend speak high in praise of the same.

Grant Alexander drove a nice bunch of cattle through here Monday. Lizzie Eshelmen has been appointed secretary of our Sunday school.

John Willy, of Illinois, will farm Fount Williver's place this season. M. E. Alston has rented tbe Morrow farm and will move on it March 1st.

The wheat prospect in the neighborhood is not very flattering the present time. Ennos Shields once a neighbor boy is now in Colorado and conductor on a street car line.

A man in this neighborhood has lived on a rented farm for fifteen years, and the landlord has never been

Henry Shots, an instructor of the young ideas of Oaklin school house, gets lost going to and from school. We also have another bright young man, Marsh Patterson, who got lost the other day going to the corn crusher, a mile from home and was found near Yountsville woudering to part unknown. Both Shots and Patterson should have a guide when they leave home.

He Loaves Next Monday.

The Associated Press dispatch says: "The schedulo for Gen. Harrison's train from Indianapolis to Washington have been arranged. It will leave Hie former place over the Pennsylvania road at noon on Monday next and arrive at its destination Tuesday, tho 26 inst., at 2:30 o'clock in tho afternoon. Tho train will consist of President Roberts' private car, two Pullman sleepers and a baggage car, and will be run as a section of tbe Atlantic express. No stops will be made between Indianapolis and

Pittsburg, except to change locomotives, and after leaving there will go through withoutfur'ther stop to Washington. The president-elect and his family will occupy President Roberts special car, which is now being renovated at the Altoona shops of the Pennsylvania road.

The car has been repainted and refurnished in all the sumptuousness possible with the advanced decorations oMo-day. President Roberts gave personal direction in rogard to tho furnishing of the car and when the work is completed it will be almost a traveling palace.
