The venerable owners mourn for them with a sorrow equaled only by mother's for her first born, and refuse to be comforted. During the winter, owing partly to our more in-door and sedentary habits, and partly to the decrease of insensible perspiration from the cuticular pores and other climatic causes, our secretions be come impaired, blood impure, liver congest ed, skin yellow and flabby, and when spring comcs wc find it almost impossible to fulfil our ordinary duties of life. And with our vital energies at this low ebb wc ore ready to" contract any of the "ills that flesh is heir to"—colds, asthma, consump tion, rheumatism, ague, fever, scrofula, jaundice, pneumonia, spring-fever, pimples boils &c. &c. A few bottles of Dr. Hurley' Cnm. Syrup of Sarsaparilla with Iodide of Potash taken in the spring will obliterate more of these diseases in their incipicncy than all tlie Doctors can cure if neglected Try it and your gratitude shall be our re ward. Itisthe general impression among farm ers that Self-Rake Reapers are very com plicated and hard to keep in order. With most machines this is the case, but a care ful examination of the Wood's Self-Rake Reaper will convince any person that there is no reaper made of any kind less compli catcd, or liable to get out of order, or will cost lets to keep in repair. The Wood's reaper is made expressly for reaping, and no part of the i-caper is used in mowing except tho drivo and ginin vrlmuls iiud the seat and tongue. For mowing a separate frame and gear is furnished, and with the addition of the four parts named, a complete Jointed Bar, Two Wheeled Price Mower is had. As evidence of their superiority, would say that the Wood's Rcaand Mower have been awarded over three hundred first prizes sixty-one during the last two years. Call on or address C. A Noteworthy Item in Life Insurance.—Some month since a Gcrmt.n living at Gosport, in this State, stepped into a bank there and said he wanted to pay his Life Insurance to Hay & Martin, agents for the "Charter Oak," at Indianapolis. He counted tho money and the cashier gavo him a draft for the amount ($10 05). Taking it. for granted tho bank would send the money to II. & M.. he took the draft home and filed it with kit policy. Subsequently he died and by the failure to make this payment, left his Policy to be worth but a comparatively small amount. An investigation, however, revealed the above state of facts, and on full representation to the company at Hartford, payment was ordered and has been made—$2,000.

It is with pleasure that we publish such an instance of true generosity—it is said that "corporations have no souls," but the Charter oak is really an exception—as in this instance, throwing aside all technicalities, taking no advantage of ignorance —but excepting the intention for the act— they came forward at once, with solid relief for the widow and orphan. A company with such a record secures the confidence of all. Agents find it easy to work, and every one feels that its policies are a good investment. (T)jelOwl
