Hall on last Saturday night was largely attended, the hall being densly crowded. Mr. Eltzroth deserves great credit for the elegant and costly style in which he has fitted up his hall. It is without exception one of the finest rooms in the-Statc.
Spiritual Hall, we understand, is to be one of the fixed institutions of onr city a resort for the weary pilgrim who would learn something of the geography and climatic condition ef a land to which he must •ooner or later emigrate. The Hall is located on Washington street, over Darter's Produce Store. It ie furnished in a neat and plain style. The walls are decorated with spiritual scenes and portraits of eminent spiritualists. ,'
A fine photograph instrument is kept in the hall, and we learn that spirit pictures art: frequently taken. A cabinet w* soon be put up when some very astonishing manifestations will Uk« place, at least such is the promise made Mr. D. by the spirits. The number of spiritualists in oar city is rapidly increasing, and embraces among its believers many of oar most respectable and wealthy citiienp.
HEXT Tuesday it St Valentine'a dof. It will be celebrated bjr.an oW-ftohioned German Ball, McClelland Hall.

A OENTLEMA.V from Fountain county.* 8 feeling himself aggrieved at some remarks made by an attorney in a case before Judge Riatine on ln»t Tuesday, threw a chair at the eloquent pleader. This being a clear violation af good order and an insult to the decorum and dignity of the Court, bis Honor requested the warlike Fountain man to come down with the sum of twenty five dollars.

For
elegant hall, de
voted to the mysteries of the unseen world, has at last been formally opened under the auspices of Mr. Fisher Doherty, the great shining light and apostle of Spiritualism. For the last twenty years Mr. D. has been an ardent and tealous advocate and teacher of the sublime truths of man's immortality as proved by the evidence of spiritual communication with tboae who once inhabited our earth. Notwithstanding persecution and ridicule, he has never swerved frotil what he considered his duty in im« parting to his fellow men a more thorough and practical knowledge of the summer land" than could be gained from the pulpits of our fashionable churches.

MISS LIXA HKATOX.—
Death has again shown his fondness for "a shining msrlc." A young lady of rare excellence and sweetness of character has passed away, leaving a numerous circle of friends to mourn her loss. After a lingering and painful illness, from which she was thought to he recovering, Miss Caroline TIeaton, daughter of our excellent fellow-citizen, .Tas. Heaton, was suddenly stricken down again, and after but a few days of extreme suffering, over which she was enabled to triumph by the power of a pure Christian faith, she peacefully fell asleep in the arms of the loved and loving Savior. Although young and foijd of life, and surrounded by mrtny warm hearts, and looking forward to a happy bridal and the bliss of a quiet home here, she could give them all up with joy for*the home her faith taught her to regard as immortal. Death found her fully prepared. When asked, a few hours before her death, by her pastor, if her confidence in Jesus was perfect, her answer was. "0, yes!" And with the same emphasis in the same words, she ex pressed her perfect, assurance that He would not forsake her, but would go with her tlirougk. tte dark valley. But a moment before- fibe struggle was over her mother said, "Do you know me, Lina." She responded, "Yes," and added, "Where's father," and iu a moment after he reached her sidfe she passed sweetly away, at a quarter to night on the evening of the Gth inst., aged twenty-seven yeaisi, three months and seventeen days.
