FATAL C.UJALITY—A
TO
DKVTU.— Last Wednesday
Mr. Stephen Potts, one of the most respected and esteemed citizens in our count}' met with a terrible accident that resulted in instant death. The scene of the dreadful affair took place in field where the do- I ceased had been employed dining the day ir. digging a pit to bury an immense bowldor. Being entirely alone at the time, no one witnessed the plunge of the enoriuouSs rock which crushed the victim into a shapeless mass. From the position of the body, which was found about three o'clock in the afternoon, it seems that the deceased had commenced climbing out of the pit, when tho rock topling over, fell upon his breast and abdomen, killing him instantly This •ad and heartrending nfl'air has thrown a gloom over our community.
