Marriage or a Unite Radical and a Saddle Colored Damsel Midnight Wedding and Sudden Departure—

How tho Iiiqulsltlves Were Do'I^cd. At, the residence of Mrs. Leo (colored), near this city, at half past one o'clock, on the morning of Thursday, August 4, 1870, by the Rev. J. Aaron Moore (black) of Meridian, Hon. A. T. Morgan (white), State Senator from Yazoo County, to Miss Currio V. Iliphpatc (colored), of this city

Notwithstanding the alliance had been anticipated some weeks, and h::s occupied a very considerable space in tho ''gossip" of the friends of the groom and the colored people generally, they wore not fully prepared for tho final denouement on Wednesday night. During the afternoon of Wednesday a rumor gained cirenla tioa that

THE AFFAIR

Would bo a finality on that night. We, of course, went to work to learn the facts, with what success will be seen. Tho license was issued by the Clerk of tho Court lute Wednesday afternoon, tho oxpectant groom informing that official that the ceremony would not be performed until "to morrow." Similar statements were made to a number of his friends an.l associates, so that curiosity was for the time lulled, recuperating strength for the events of tho morrow.

Nobody suspected that, the .statement about "to-morrow" was a blind, bat so it proved. The night mail train bound north passes this city at 2 o'clock. Morgan, accompanied by colored men, appeared at tho depot with a trunk, and desired a cheek for tho some to Cleveland, Ohio, Mi. Shortly afterwards Inretured with 2 trunks (the properly of tho bride), and received another cheek for Louisville

As yet no suspicion was aroused as to the actual intent ol" the Senator. Tho whole affair wr.s inmjagcd very

his appearance, and his placc was supplied by Reverend .1. Aaron Moore, (black,) the Christian light of the Republican party, who frbm his seat on tho floor of tho House, some weeks ago, said, "If Jesus Christ should oppose tho rights of th" colored race," ho would vote against hinw

Napoleon. If all this be true, bui one io.-.ie re,mains for tho Emperor, viz., to declare the Ptepublie even as he declared the Empire. If ho can command the support, in such an enterprise, of men liko Changarnier, the probabilities are that the French people—the most fickle on the face of the globe—would rally to his standard with enthusiasm and make a bold and perhaps success ful stand against the dangers which threaten the nation from without, if they can not turn tide successfully now setting so strongly against France. Within a few days all Europe may be ablaze with revolutionary fires, and revolutions inaugurated, not only in France, but in ail the monarchial governments, the end and extent of which no man can forsee. Napoleon, by his misfortune or blunders, may lose his prestige and perhaps be placed in a situation that will require desperate remedies to relieve him. His past history gives evidence that he has been equal to great emergencies, and although ill health may unfit him for the trial before him, and the personal dangers that menance him, it is not probable that all his sagacity has left 'nim, and that he will quietly submit to dethronement and the exile of himself and family from France, without a great struggle to maintaiu his position at the head of the government in

lu-rctofore shown in adapting himself to emergencies and circumstances has not probably forsaken him, and when he finds that, the issue is a republic or exile, if not a worse calamity, he will not hesitate to decide promptly. The new situation of affairs in France changes tho features of the European complications, and perhaps the time lias arrived when it, will be decided whether Europe shall be all Cossack or Republic, or, rather, whether tho rule of the people, constitutional government, shall not, take the place of family dynasties 'and arbitary '-Tavernnient.—Stc.lc &• n/ni' J.
