ALAMO.
Ms. EDITOR:—One of the most uiifortuaate features in some cases of deranged or impaired intellectual faculties, is the unhappy turn of what remains of the mind. Thi» i8 uicre lamentable than mere insanity in itself considered, and the worst phase of «uch cases is where a inuti is unnaturally disposed to attack his own friends. Such a -man resembles a dog with the hydrophobia, which is as apt to bite the hand of his own master as that of any one else. A painful illustration of our idea is furnished by Mr. ^^^Addison Gilkey, of Alamo, who in his ''present unhappy and pitiable condition, is .'Constantly assailing all his old friends and will probably continue to do so long as he permitted to write to the Journal.

Experience.
By this we mean a. close application in selling, putting up aud operating machinery for seventeen year? in succession, besides having attended nine State Fairs, three United State Fairs aud also the great Mechanics' Institute of Philadelphia, San Francisco and Cincinnati. During all this time Gregg has followed and studied closely all inventions and improvements in the various classes of machinery and farm implements. This 19 what we call experience. We would say to the farmers of Montgomery and surrounding counties they can find at Gregg's Hardware Store the latest improved and most practicalReapers and Mowers. Threshing Machines, Horse Hay Rakes. Horse Pitch Forks, the celebrateb Fulgent Grain Drill, Plows of all kinds, aud in fact the farmer can find at Gregg's Mammoth every machine or implement he may need on the farm, and as good a stock of Hardware as is kept in the West. Now what we claim is, that with our experience we can furnish a betler machine than is produced at any other establishment. Remember our 'motto," Oood goods and good bargains, at Gregg's Mammoth Hardware Store. tnay*28tf I
