Our friend Charley Crawford, of the Stone Front, starts on his eastern trip this morning. Charley expects to visit nil the principal cities of the East, lie says he intends buying one of the largest and best stocks of dry goods ever before seen in this city, and intends surprising us by •bowing how cheap goods can bo sold. Look out for big arrivals of sjiruijf goods at the''Stone Front.''

Potato Planting.

The planting of this valuable vegetable, and one of the most important articles of daily cohsumation will commence next month. I11 selecting the best varieties, the "Early Rose'r will undoubtedly take the preference. Oscar Burras, of Fairfield Ohio, raised from fourteen pounds of seed potatoes, the enormous quantity of ninety-four bushels, and wa& awarded the first premium, $200, for the largest yield of "Early Rose" potatoes from one peck of seed, at the Ohio State Fair.

Col. Carringrton'11 Lecturo. iCol. Carrington, U. S. A., will deliver on Monday evening, at the Centre Church, a lecture which has been highly complimented by N cw England papers, for the benefit of a proposed Gymnasum which the Colonel

has undertaken to build for the students. Nearly four years of frontier experience, much of th« time amid active hostilities, gives the material from which to furnish very interesting facts for general informntion. If the lccture is half as full oi interest as Col. Carrington's "Experience on the Plains." now received bv Major Koott) 4 full house should be secured, independant of the worthy object 0 be aided. The subject will be "The Indians of the Northwest, their habits, costumes, modes of warfare, &C." Also a treatment of the Indian Question.

The causes of Catarrh are so numerous that space will not allow in this article to fully explain them. Suffice it to say here, that repealed colds in the head, neglected until it becomes chronic, and scrofulous taint of the system are among the prominent causes of this disease it often follows Scarlet Fever, Canker Rash. Measel*, Putrid Srne Throat. Diphtheria, kc.

Whilst the disease consists of inflamation of the membrane lining the throat, nostrils, and air cavities about the upper part of the face and base of the skull, it admits of direct examination and application of such local means, coupled with appropriate general treatment, as to insure its immediate relief and ultimate cure: but when neglected until the lungs are attacked, medical skill and the hope and 1 the prayers of friend* prove alike nnavailing.

But this I much has been clearly elucidated, and is become an axiom with the learned profession, that by far the greatest number of: lour ailments are directly tracable lode-: rangemcnt of the digestive fit nations, and if "good digestion wait on appetite," health will be the almost uniform result.

Acting upon this axiom, the inventor of Dr. Hurley's Celebrated Stomach Bitters has been eminently successful (judging from the many testimonials thai are constantly pouring in upon him through the mails and press',, in preparing a reniwly to meet and '-nip in the bud'" all this long list of obscure and disire-sing derangements that render "life scarco worth the living.''
