Tin: Rkoatta.—The boat race, according to announcement came off on last.Tuesday afternoon, notwithstanding a heavy rain prevailed at the time. The attendance was quite large and although the rain descended at times in torrenls, the crowd bore it with a fortitude that told plainly the deep interest taken by the public in tin's the first boat race ever witnessed in our waters. At half a past o'clock, the Lady Annabel rowed into positon, quickly followed by the Sorosis -and the Stonebitaker. At the signal, the oars of the three bonis struck the water almost simultaneously, and with a rapid speed they bore up the river, the Sorosis leading, by three lengths, and followed by the others nenrly abreast. At the bridge the Sorosis grndualy fell back and was soon abreast of the Stonebreaker which position she held until rounding the stake off

Eagle Point, when the Annabel made a magnificent spurt and shot nhead. The race now became exciting, the Stoncberaker and Sorosis following in the wake of the Lady Annabel, laboring heavily but gaining gradually. At Corey's Diggin's, the Sorosis weakened, although cheered loudly by a crowd of the sisterhood on the cliffs, and fell rapidly astern, when the Stonebreaker shot, like nn arrow nhead, passing the Lady Annabel, and winning the race by eight lengths.

SIX lillKAT REMEDIES

Hurley's Ague Tonic,

Arwulf-N« Mrrrary,

PKUKKf'TLY RBLIABLR.

The only remedy for ''hills and Fever, or Atjne and Fever, that is i.r can be depended upon is Hurley's Ague Tenic. Thora have been thousands eured by using it who have tried th* remedies without benefit.

WORTHY OF ATTENTION. To Dr. Thomas A. Hurley: I hereby certify that during lait year I *mattacked with the aguo whilst in ickwbune. Miss., and used several popular medicines with but temporary relief. On reaching honio^ tho diseased returned in a worse type, if possible, when my medical attendant ordered Qmnine »n large doses—frequently as high as fiO grain* per day. and which most have cost mo nearly 9100. I I consulted Dr. Smith, of Louisville, and found he prescribed quinine and arsenta combined, which I refused to take, preferring to Wt the disease take its courso. I was almost blooalesj. extremely exhausted, and prononneed with enlarged Liver and Spleen. About this time, tho advertisement of Hurley's Aguo ToniC. appoaredinacitv paper, and I determined to give it atrial. I did so.and have no reason to repet it. One bottle restored mo'completely, and since that time seen nearly a hundred cases in which it acted with equally happy results, and would certainly rccommond it as preferable to any other tonie before tho puWio.

Lomsvillb,'April4.18M.'

Hurley's Sarasparilla is what it is represented, and 1 belike it tho most wonderful medicine before the public. Nothing under tho heavens could ind 11 co me to say so without proof ot tne strongest and surest kind: therefore, ipeaK willingly and positively on tho subject.

My daughter has been aflliotcd with skin diseaso and stiffness of the joints for several yoars. I employed the principal physicians of the city and thov could not euro her. I gav° her yonr Sarsaparilla not expecting it would do lior mucn good, but to my great astonishment she raptdty got well, and thank God continues so. Had she been taking any mcdicino I would not give this certificate but your Sarasparilla. tho onl remedy employed, leaves no doubt of its meilical qualities, and that (Signed,) LUKL REl NOLDS.

Any person requiring tho truth and honesty of the statement, will find mo at iny_ rosidence. corner Ninth ami Walnut streets. Louisville, Ky.
