Fuit.—The Annual Fair of

j_fhe Montgomery County Agricultural Society commences on the -Ith of October. From the extensive preparations which are being made, we ate or opinion that this will be the niot attractive ever held in this

County. We are glad to observe that an unusual degree of interest is being taken in

this institution by ilie people. This lad itself indicates the growing prosperity of our county.

It is necessary, in order io make '•FailWeek'' what it oughi to be. and to make if produce the good results which it might produce. tli|it all our citizens should exert themselves.' 'Let the .tradesmen of the city, the professional man. the artisan ami the laborer join with the farming classes in the

effort to make Montgomery County Fair one I of the Institutions of the Slate. Situated as we are. with our immense agricultural and mineral resources, with a reputation of being the best stock-producing county in the

Slate, and with the splendid railroad facilities we are almost in possession of. I his county Fair can be made an affair to be looked forward to, as a week of solid enjoyment for people of every occupation in life, lucre are perhaps but three professions or occupations which can not '-enter" into competition for premium. The minister may not be able lo exhibit his particular path lo eternal bliss and take a red ribbon --on it no prize perhaps may be offered to the shrewd attorney for the display-of the -leanest client's pocket book ami the surgeon perhaps will not be called upon to exhibit his skill in cutting, carving and burning. Hut these can well afford, and ought to allow themselves this week of rest and relaxation (if possible) from their labors. They certainly need some interval of this kind. And while all enjoy the -Fair week." political animosities will be forgot ton sectarian intolerance will be laid aside: good fellowship and harmony will prevail every bo'dy's sister, father and mother, brother, cousin's haltVstcp-brdlfier-iii-law will come to make a visil.'and all will have a week to be remembered.

Worthy of Attention.

T*Dr. Tktinsii. Harley: I hereby certify that durinit the last year I was attacked with the Ague while in Vick'bnr?, Miss., and ised several popular patent medicines with but temporary relief. On reaching home the disease returned in a worse type, if possible, when my medical attendant ordered Quinine, in laree doses, frequently as high as fid grains per day, anil which must have cost me nearly ?100. I consulted Dr. Smith, of Louisville, and found he prescribed Quinine and Arse nic. combined, which I refused to lake, preferring to let the disease take its course. I was almost bloodless, extremc-Iy exhausted, and pronounced with enlarged Liver and Spleen.
