Mood Engraving.
Mr. Henry Winton, one of the best Tlonse nnd sipn pninters in the north-west, is now executing some elegnnt specimens of wood engraving. His engravings are all furnished with duplicates which enables tho printer to work them in variety of colors. Merchants would do well to call on Mr. \V. His designs are unique and elegant, and when printed on our new steam presses, present a novel and attractive style of advertising
Kobnck's Scandinavian Kenietlles. The undisputed superiority of the Scandinavian Remedies over nil others is shown in many ways, but especially is it evinced in this important fact, that responsible druggists and merchants nil over the country take active interest in introducing them to their best customers and friends, while at the samo time it is quite as much to their interest to recommend other articles reason for this is obvious, and creditable to human nature, they are in positions to see the pre-eminent oilicacy of tho Scandinavian Remedies in a great number of cases, and naturally give their voice in favor of remedies which effect so much good in tho world.

C. F. Rogers' non-explosive safely packcd lamp for burningcoal oil fluid. Tho superiority of this lamp over all others now in use is seen in the fact that it possesses, from the peculiar state of its construction, all the properties which constitute it a non-explosive lamp. We claim, as a great desideratum, that our lamp burn* without glohe or chimney producing neither smoke or smell, and at onefilth the cost of other tights. It is made of brass, of beautiful design nnd finish. The interior is packed with cotton, which absorbs the fluid poured in, and what is not absorbed is poured into the can, leaving 110 liquid to spill or take fire by accident. The burner is composed of duct tubes, one placed within the other, with a space left between the two, forming a chamber which is open to the interior of the lamp, so that gasses which accumulate in the lamp pass otF freely, are consumed in the flame, thus effectually preventing all accidents and consequent explosions in its use, and meets (he long felt want of every household for a safe and portable light. The Hame can be graduated from a portable to a night light. Mr. .1, F. (JOFF is agent for the sale of the above lamp in this county.

They arc ompound in metal, ono part gold, one part datina, and one part silver: and cost upwards if thirteen hundred pounds sterling, (nearly ."00 00) and according to the foreign press, they produce the most charming effect of any musical instrument.or instruments yet known. The London (England) Daily Times, whose correct musical criticisms are copied over the whole continent of Europe, says of them "No such performance on hand-bolls has been heard in London within our memory. To say that, the music produced by these extraordinary bell-ringers is sweet, is to mention its smallest merit. It is not only melodious. but pure, tender, sympathetic, and expressive to a degree to which no written description can do adequate justice."
