of Lafayette. The ma

chinery connected with the mill is run by

what is termed the American Turbine wheel, an improvement 011 the French

Turbine that caused so much interest.

This wheel though small, possesses im-

lnenso power, it is only 25 inches in diameter and sets upon a floor or deck five

and a half feet above the surface of the water in the tail race, and from the deck

where the wheel sets to the top of the

water in the box. or pen-stock, is seven

teen feet, giving a fall or pressure of water on the wheel of twenty-two feet

six inches. The wheel has a working

voloeity of two hundred and forty revolu

tions per minute and possesses a capacity

of thirtv horse power. This wheel is

now driving two pair of forty-two inch burs, together with either appurtenances

necessarily belonging to a well appointed

mill of four pair of burs. The wheel in use at. this mill is certainly a most as

tonishing invention in way of power and

well deserves the attention of machinists.

The appurtenances connected with the

mill are of the most perfect order and

taken together the mill is one of the great improvements of the county.

This wheel was invented by Messrs.

MIDPLETOWK. IM)„ April 00,1800.

Mr, M. L. Duplan writer I do not know that Hull's Worm Dostroyer needs any more recommendations than it has already attained by its own merits, but will state that my littlo son, agod about throe yoars, was severely attacked last fall and winter with light chills, followed by very high fevor. throwing him into spasms, or perhaps more properly FITS, lasting from half an hour to ono and a half hours at the samo tfmo tho child had TOT? strong symptoms of worms. My physician—one of the host in this part of the country—exhausted all his skill and the Materia Mcdiea to expel the worms, and entirely failed to bring any. I thought "John Bull" could do it, and gave the child the contentsfof three boxes, in triple doses, night and morning, wilh happy results. The child has not had a spasm for over three months, and instoad of the bloated mass that he was, ho is now well and hearty. "John Hull did it." Yours, truly,

HULL—Dear

Sir: My husband. Dr. C. S.

Johnson, was a Pskillful enrgeon and physician in Centra] New York, where ho died, leaving the abovo C. P.Johnson to my care. At thirteen years'of age he had achroniodiarrhea and scrofula.for which I gave him your Sarsaparilla. IT criiED mx. 1 havo for ten yoars recommended it to many in New York,

Ohio, and Iowa, for scrofula, fever sores, and general debility. Perfect success has attended it. Tho cures olTccted in some cases of scrofula and fevor sores wore almost miraculous. I am very anxious for my son to again have rocourse to your Sarsaparilla. llo is fearful of getting a spurious article, hence his writing it. JFEVER.

The proprietor of this celobrated mcdicinc justly claims for it a superiority.over all remedies offered to the public, for the'safe, certain, spoedy and permanent cure of Ague and Fever, or Chills aud Fever. whether of short or long standing. He refers to the entire Western and Soutli-wostern country to bear him testimony to tho truth of tho assertion, that in no case whatever wilt it fail to cure, if the directions arc strictly followed and carriod out. In a great many cases a single doso has been sufficient for a cure, and whole families have been cured by a single bottle, with a perfect restoration of the general health. It is, however, prudent, and in every

case moro'cortain to cure, if its use.is continued in smaller doses for a woek or two after tho disease has boon checked, more especially in difficult and long standing cases. Usually, this medicine will not require any aid to keep the bowels in good order •diould the patient, however, require a cathartic mcdicinc, after having taken three or four doses of the Tonic, a single doso of BULL'S VEUKTABLb

FAMILY PILLS will be sufficient. DR. JOHN BULL'S Principal Office:
