Mysterious Disappearance of Two Tnrkles. One of tln.se mysterious disappearances

that at limes shocks a community and occa

sions a pang, an empty Toid in our stomachs,

occurred in our city on last Wednesday night.

.Several of our young men, who have recently

organized themselves into an Epicurean Club,

procured at considerable expense a couple of

large fat turkics, with a bountiful supply of

celery and cranberries. The birds and fix

tures were left at one of our most, fashionable

restaurants, with orders to have them cooked

ftud served up in the highest culinary art.

At an early hour in the evening, while the

1

feast was sending up delicious odors, the!

scent of which no doubt was snuffed by some I

wolfish gormandizers on our streets, the sable

cook and warden of the kitchen was inveigled

from his post, and in his absence the deli-

cious morsels, hot and smoking, the bare

sight of which would have made Laiarus

leap for joy, spirited away. Wc shall attempt

no description of the storm of wrath that

this bold slight-of-haud occasioned. The

Club, after the first ebullitions of indignation

had passed, resolved themselves into a philo

sophical composure, which, after several

nightcaps, approached a serious serenity and

composure that told of secret grief within.

Mr.M. L. My physician—ono of tho best in this part of the country—exhausted all his skill and the Matoria Mcdloa to expel tho worm*, and entirely failed to bring any. I thought "John Bull" could do it, and g*vc the child the contents ot three boxes, in triple doses, night and morning, wiih happy results. The child has uot had a spasm for ovor throe mouths, and instoad of tho bloatod mass that ho was, he is now well and hearty. "John Bull did it.'* Yours.truly.

Da. But.!.—Dear Sir: My Vusband. Dr, C. S, Johnson, was a skillful hurgeon and physician in

IT CUKKI) HIM. 1 have lor ten years recommended it to many in New York, Ohio, and Iowa, for scrofula, fever sores.and general debility. Perfect success has attended it. Ho is fearful of getting a spurious article, hence his writing it. Hito you fors wounds wore terrible, but I believe he wiil recover.

The proprietor of this celebrated medieino justly claims for It a superiority over all remedies offered to the public, for the safe, certain, speedy and permanent cure of Ague and Fever, or Chills aud Fever, ..bother of short or long standing. He refers to the entire Western and South-western country to bear him testimony to the truth of the assertion, that in no caso whatever will it fail to cure, if tho directions are strictly followed nnd carried out. In a great many cases a single dose has boen sufficient for a cure, and whole families have been cured by single bottle, with a perfect restoration of tHe generalhcuith. It is, however, prudent* aridin «every case more ccrtain to cure, if its use is eoptiguod in smaller doses for a week or two after the

I been cheeked, more especially in difficult anflflong standing cases.Usually, this medicine will net ruquire any aid to keep the bowels in good order should tho patient, however, require a cathartic medicine, after having taken three or four doses of the Tonic, a single dose of BULL*.s EGKTAPLh 1 FAMILY PILLS will besufficient.
