THE best quality of white wheat sold ill our city this week for three dollars a bushel.— Flour lias advanced to sixteen dollars a barrel.

THE hog crop in this county will be considerably larger than last season. The bogs are said to be in excellent order, with the exception of the north-west part of the county, where the cholera has destroyed large numbers, many farmers losing their entire slock.

The Mammoth.

This great establishment of the Grahams still continues to be the centre of trade, ihe enormous piles of goods that a few weeks since filled up every part of their sale rooms is being rapidly diminished, notwithstanding new g()ods are daily being received (\i\ turn.

I)EAH KEADI II— Would you have vouv food set well upon your stomach, your digestion regular, and lio trouble from sick headache, sooi stomaih, consumption in short would you lie tnu-d of Dyspepsia? then use Coc's Dyspepsia cure. It is a certain remedy in all such cases

A THOUSAND dollars in gold against a five dollar Confederate note, that King's Prepared Prescription contains more medicinal virtue than any other preparation ever offered for the cure of Consumption, Asthma, ISronchitis, and all Nervous Diseases. The testimony of hundreds who have been cured, after trying other remedies, induces this oiler. See advertisement.

ONE MOKE UNFORTUNATE.—Alas for the thousands of unfortunate youths who, from the acquirement of a certain secret vice, have brought upon themselves the infirmities of age ere it was yet the noon of life. The great boonc for such, and the only sure, safe, positive cure, is Dr. Juan Delamarre's celebrated Specific Pills. See advertisement headed, Life, Health, Strength.

THE necessity of a good hotel in our city is admitted by all. At present there are but two public places for entertaining strangers in the city, one of them, the l'urscl house, is in an unfinished condition, and badly arranged for hotel accomodations. The other, the Walker House, is a small wooden building and entirely unsuited for a hotel. Hotli of these houses arc kept by very clever gentlemen, and with the means at their command entertain their guests in a very creditable manner, but not exactly in the style that a city like Crawfordsvillc should. Wc understand that a number of our citizens, among whom we will name Sampson Houston and John W. Ulair, have had under consideration for the last two weeks the project of building a first-class hotel, provided suitable ground could be purchased at fair rates. trust this enterprise will not be abandoned, but that every one will feel an interest, particularly those who own vacant lots in the I centre of the city, and that next spring we I shall witness the commencement of the work.

SHU Gravel Roads. _? f- We had the pleasure of a ride ovei the ntw gravel roads, recently built in the cast pari of this county. The building of these roads jE is an indication of the prosperity of our city i1 and county, and shows that energy and perscverance are all that is wanted to carry out any enterprise of this kind. I We understand that certain parties design to commence work on the mad leading to

Yountsville the coming week, and mil perhaps complete it this lull. Vh\ not gr.i\cl all the roads leading to the cit\ Let some enterprising firm take hold of the work at once- The Wavuetown road should by all means bo undertaken. Will not the citizens along that-line of road take enough interest in the matter to encourage some company to commence the work.' The idea that men— wealthy farmers, merchants ami mechanics of our community will continue to lide in mud when an opportunity is afforded them to have good roads, is simply ridiculous, and would indicate a spirit of selfishness that should not be countenanced in any community.

We would advise all persons living the western part of the comity to take a tiip up east and see the improvement made there— all due to the enterprise of a few men, and without the aid of but a very few of our wealthier citizens.

JiiorsA.vns of females ilie aiinuftlly for want of a rcmeih- for the ailments to which tliev urc Incident. The only HUCII remedy wc know of is Sir .lames Clarke's Fcmnlc Pills.— They are put up in bottles, containing fifty pills, wiih a circular containing explicit directions, and sent, post free, for SI ami postage stamps. They arc well known to ho the only sure and safe remedy for female diseases and obstructions from any cause. See advertisement.
