Time, Place and Occasion:
The shades of night were falling fast, As through a Western City passed A youth, who bore, 'mid snow and ice. :fe§s!)|tf A banner with this strange device
"OOOD NEWS!"',,
The news was that L. A. FOOTE CO. had just feccived alarge lot of New fiords, making their stock fuller and more complete than it Inid ever been, and tho best stock in their line ever in the city of CruwTordsvillo. »,'v -y
Ho passed where hangs tho sign o'ei iieiul, "Nofarthcrgo," a young mnn snid "You'll find no better far or wide''— And loud thatsn.ic-horn voice replied:
"GOOD N EWS!'!
For the information of the public, wo would any that the sign referred to is that ot the "COIINKU lfook STOKK," (you can see it from either Green or Vernon streot.O and the yoiuignian who stopped the. traveler was John K. llobin.-on. Jr.. who has been in the establishment a year, and being v.-oil posted in the business, knew what ho was talking about when lie told the gentleman with the banner to stop. If you doubt, call and ask him.
And now he stands within the doofr-* 1 Where goodsare found from wall to And with a smile and wink of eye,
He says in accents clear and high.
50HSEE NEW HOODS!\ ...
He saw Bibles. Testaments, Pra rcr Hooks and Ilyinn liooksfor all denominations. Albums. Histories, Novels, Music Hooks, a great stock of miscellaneous Books. all tho School Books in use in common TTT\"\ TO Schools, College Text Books, Blank and Memoran- XJLXJ IO dum liooks, Pictures, all sorts, kinds and sizes, Piotxua Frames, Moldings, l'nper of every size and kind. Wall and Window Paper, Window Shades, Cords, Tassels En, elopes, KUtes. Pencils. Ink, Pens, Toys in great varioty. and Notions of nil kinds. In fact. if you wore to ask him he would not be able to onuwerate the half that ho did see. Xordid he forget to inquiro the prices, which, being lower than he anticipated, and finding many things he wanted he bought quite a largo quantity, which led to the following results:
At break of day, towards the broo is His way a thirsty fanner took: He hoard a voice of wild despair King dearly through the morning air— "GOOD NEW.S!!s
The farmer was astonished for ho could see no one. and so he brought out his dogs for a.Jhunt, an^Jind the mystery explained as follows: t"®*'-5
A traveler, by tho faithful hound, 'J All buried in Now Goods was found Still in his hands, as in a vico, gggpgjgijg That banner with that strange device: '-GOOD NEWS!L
The fact i? that ho had pot too many articles for his money and was not ablo to "toto" them home, and so got into the above unforlunato predicament.
•IIS 1 fear tho youth who bravely 1ioro|! fcfcf The Kxcclsior flag in days of yore,4® The "Corner Book Store" had not'f ^fiiS Or lie might now bo singing rouud-'-GOOD NEWS!" "i il j.T -h£
The reason wehavo for this belief is. that if he had found the 'Corner" ho would have bought so many cntertainniR Books that ho would never have undertaken that journey, but have stayed at homo and made a quiet citizcn.
Our hcrolives, and lives this day, If you'd liko to know I'll toll you tho wny «v Hi-- mind was full and his heart was warmvi' 2 .And ho was only singing amid the storm. "GOOD NEWS!"

lie wa-, rescued from his perilous condition, went, on his way rejoicing and gladoned his family and friends with a bountiful supply of Books, Stationery. Toys, Notions, Ao., which ho hud bought at thoplaco where you get cheap goods and tho rightJchimge back.
And now with goods in his arms and hands, SIMS- floods on his back, in goods he stands— i!«j And costing but a very few fips—
The well known sound comes from his lips. "GOOD NEWS!" i' W.t -n
It may bo s.iid thai tho youth above mentioned wns employed to blow for FOO'115 .t CO., but you can bo convinced of your mistake if you will cnll and see the best assorted and most complete stock of goods in our lino over brought to the city, and at pricossto suit the times. -cy
The youth forgot to sny that wo koep a General News Depot, where vou can find a full supply ol AltAZl.NES and Utd'arj Pajicrs.
Also have for salo tho "Wilcox & f.lbbs Sewing Mnthine," which we invite you to call and seo. «w. Any goods noton hands promptly ordered.
