JCasfcattinsetts Politics.

Governor Andrew's message, delivered •to the Massachusetts Legislature, makes general direct'issues with what have hitherto been considered doctrines of Massachusetts radicalism. He opposes reor-

Utilization on the basi3 of loyal voters of vhit« and black, as sure to lead to an--archy and chaos, and arguafc that the effort to kesp the rebel leaders out of political control is umgise. No reorgauiza* tion. can be valu&Blcf or secure ib which tho natural accustomed leaders of the community are not the foremost movera.

Tho above is from the Cincinnati Ga «ette. Siuce President Johnson has notified the. Republicans that he shall stop tbeii^ feed unless they walk up to his policy, they, are hurrying along as fast as possible.

If Mr. Johnson should make it a condition that the Republicans should support Jeff. Davis for the next President, or leave the treasury, they would hold on to the treasury, and go for Jeff. Of this there can be no doubt.

AUDITOR OF STATE.—Among the many distinguished gentlemen whose names uppear as candidates for nomination at tho approaching Democratic Convention, un the list we find the name of W. C. Vance, of Crawfordsville. Mr. Yance is of this (the ?6th) Congressional District, and "to the manor born." His business capacity is undoubtd, his integrity loner and well tried, his fidelity to the Consti^ tution and laws without a blemish, his urbanity and gentlemanly deportment in social life attracts all with whom he may come in contact. His nomination, should he receive it, will be a fit one, and we trust without disparagement to the many good men named, that he will receive the nomination.— Covington Friend.

AUDITOR OP STATE.—Several democratic gentlemen from different portions of the State, are earnestly urging the nomination by the Democratic State Convention, of W. C. Vance. Esq., of Craw fordsville, Montgomery county, for Auditor of State. The selection would, in our opinion, be an admirable one. He is Ji gentleman of fine talents, unfiiching democracy, undoubted integrity, extended popularity, and would make a thorough canvass. The interests of the party and State alike would justify the nomination. Wh^t say our democratic cotemporaries.— Laporte Democrat.

IIOGARTH in one of his pictures represents a ragged and hungry fellow, out of whose pocket protrudes a pafer indorsed apian for paying off the national debt of England. There is not a fledging statesman on the radical benches who has not to-day his pet plan for amending tho Constitution.

WHEN

you pay your taxes—your di

rect tax^to the tax gatherer, not the tax on every thing you eat, drink, wear or use —persuade yourself, if you can, that Black Republicanism is all right, and that its darling (a national debt,) is intended as a national blessing.
