THE SINGER
SEWING MACHINE
Our LETTER A FAMILY SEWING MACHINE is fast gaining a world-wide reputation. It is beyond doubt the best, cheapest and most beautifo. Family Sewing Machine yet offered to the public. No other Family Sowing Machine has so many useful appliances for Hemming,
Bindiug, Felling, Tuck
ing, Gathejjng, Guaging, Braiding, Cording and so forth. Noother Machino has so much eapaoit.y for a great variety of work. It will sew all kinds of cloth, and with all kinds of thread. Great and recent improvements make this Machino reliable, durable, and most cortain in action at all rates of speed. It makes the interlocked stitch, which is the best stitch known. Any ono. ef ordinary capacity, can see, at a glanoo, how to use our letter A Machino. aiding Case of this Machine is a piece of canning workmausuiu v. ,. -u t. useful kind. It protects iho machine when not in ubv,, jj0n about to be operated may bo opened as a spaoiouo and substantial table to sustain the work. Whilo some of tho Cases, made of tho choicest woods, are finished in tho simplest manner possiblo, others are adorned and embellished in tho most costly and superb manner.
MACHINES FOB MANUFACTURING PURPOSES.
OurNos. 1 andS Machines are of groat capacity and application for manufacturing purposes—tailoring, shoe fitting, and so forth
Our No. 3 Machines (with Vibrating Pressor, which is indispensable for heavy patent leather work) are especially adapted to all kinds of light and heavy Leather Work, in Carriage Trimming, Boot and Shoo Making, Marness Making, etc., etc. They aro of extra size, with an arm long enough to take und6r it and stitch tho largest sized carriage dashes. There is scarcoly any part of a Trimmer's stitching that cannot bo better done by them than by hand so. too. the saving of time and labor is very groat. The table of these Machines is 34 inohes long, and tho shuttle will hold six times us much thread as the shuttle of those used for tailoring purposes. The large machines work as fast as small ones.
The public have been swindled by spurious machines made in imitation of ours. The metal in them, from tho iron casting to tho smallest piece is of poor quality. It is only by doing a groat business, and having extensivo manufacturing establishments, that good machines can bo made at moderate prices. The best designed Machines. BADLY MADE, aro always liable to get out of order, and arosuro to cost considerablo trouble and money to keep them in repair.
The qualities to bo lookod for in a mochino are: certainty of correct action al all rate» qf speed, simplicity of construction, great durability, and rapidity of operation, with the leatt labor.— Machines, to combino these essential qualities, must bo made of the best metal and finished to perfection. We havo tho ways and means, on a grand scale, to do this.
The purchasers of Machines, whose daily broad it may oonoern will find that those having the above qualities not only work woll nt rapid as well as slow rates of speed, but last longest in tho finest possiblo working order. Our Machines, as hade by us. will earn more money with less labor than any others, whether in imitation of ours or not. In fact thoy aro cheaper than any other Machines as a gift.
All genuine,Singer Machines will ho ropaired (though it Boldom happens that they require it) at the offices of our agents.
Tho Branoh Offioos aro well supplied with silk, twist, thread, nocdlos oil, Ac., of tho very best 1ualUy-
