THE SINGER
Our LETTER A FAMILY SEWING MACHINE is fast gaining a world-wide reputation. It is beyond doubt the best, ohoapest and most beautiful Family Sewing Machine yet offered to the public. No other Family Sewing Machino has so many usoful appliances for Hemming.
Binding. Felling, Tuck
ing, Gathering, Guaging, Braiding, Cording and so forth. No other Machine has so much capacity for a great variety of work. It will sow all kinds of elotli, and with all kinds of thread. Great and recent improvements make this Machino reliable, durable, and most ccrtain in action at all rates of speed. ,It ma.UoiuheJntcrlo.ekcd stitch, which is tho beststiton known. Any ono, of ordinary capacity. a glance, how to uso our lotter A Machine.
Tho Folding Case of this Machino is a piece of cunning workmanship of tho most useful kind. It protects the machino when not in use, and when about to bo oporatcd may be oponed as a spaoious and substantial table to sustain tho work. While some of tho Casos. made of tho ohoicest woods, arc finished in the simplest manner possible, others are adorned and embellished in the most costly and superb manner.
It is absolutely neoossary to soe tho Family Machine in operation, to judge of itsgreatcapacity and beanty.
It is fast becoming as popular for family sewin as our Manufacturing machines aro for manufacturing purposes.
MACHINES FOR MANUFACTURING PURPOSES.
Our Nos. 1 and 2 Machines aro of great capacity and application for manufacturing purposos—tailoring.shoc fitting, and so forth.
Our No. 3 Machines (with Vibrating Presser, which is indispensable for heavy patent^eather work) arc especially adapted to all kinds of light and heavy Leather Work, in Carriage Trimming, Boot and Shoo Making, Marness Making, etc., etc.- They are of extra size, with an arm long enough to take under it and stitch the largest sized carriage dashes. There is scarcely any part of a Trimmer's stitching that cannot be better done by them than by hand too. tho saving of timo and labor is very great, Tho tablo of these Machines is 24 inches long, and the shuttle will hold six times as much thread as the shuttle of thoso used for tailoring purposes. The largo machinos work as fast as small ones.
The public have been swindled by spurious ma chines made in imitation of ours. The motal in them, from the iron casting to tho smallost piece is of poor quality. It is only by doing a great business and having extensive manufacturing establishments that good machines can bo made at moderate prices, Tho best dosigncd Machines. BADLY MADE, arc always liable to get out of order, and aresuro to cost considerable trouble and money to keep them in repair. $
Tho qualities to bo looked for in a mocliinc are certainly of correct action at all rates oj speed, simplicity of construction, great durability, and rapidity of operation, tctth the least labor.— Machines, to combino these esgential qualitios, must be made of the best metal and finished to perfection. We have tho ways and means, on a grand scalc, to do this.
The purchasers of Machines, whoso daily bread it may concern will find that thoso having tho above qualities not only work woll nt rapid as well as slow rates of speed, but last longest in the finest possiblo working order. Our Machines, A8 hade bt us. will earn more money with less labor than any others, whether in imitation of ours or not. In fact thoy are cheaper than any other Machines as a gift.
All genuine Singer Machines will bo repaired (though it seldom happens that they requiro it) at the offices of our agents.
Tho Braneh Offices are well supplied with silk, twist, thread, needles, oil, !fcc., of tho vory best quality.
