Prospectus of the Indiana' State Sentinel, Dally and Weekly, for

1805-6.

Armed rebellion lias been supprossod, and the conflict of ideas and of principlos hassuccoodod it. The q-iestion now presented to the pooplo is whether tho Old Fovernmont, ns framed by tho Monof the Revolution, shall bo restored, or whetheiQpNew Government. ignoring States Rights and obliterating State Linos, with an overshadowing oentralized power usurping the control and direction of the domestic policy and institutions of the .States, shall succood It. The SENTINEL, as heretofore, will continue to maintain and defend old fashioned Democratic doctriuos. Adoptingtho creed of JEFFERSON, tliofounder of the Democratic Party, the SENTINEL will advocate—

The Bupportof tho Stnte Governments in all thoir tights, as the most competent administrationsfor our domestic oonoerns, ana the surest bulwarks against ftntforepublican tendencies. "f

The preservation of tho genera! government in its whole constitutional vigor, as the sheet anchor of car peace at homo and safety abroad.

A jealous care of 'tho'right of oloctlon by the feoplo. Absolut acquiescence In tho will of tho majority, Che vital principle of Republics, from whioh is no appeal but to forco, tho vital principle and immediate parent of dospotism.

Tho supremacy of tho civil over the military authority. Economy in tho publiO expenses, that labor may bo lightly burdened. honest paymont of our debts, and sacred preservation of the public fiuth.

Encouragement of agflculturo, and of commerce as its handmaid. The diffusion of information, and arraignment of all abuses at the bar Of public reason.

Freedom of religion freedom of the press, and freedom of the person ufcdor protection of tho habeas corpus. J.

Trial by juries impartially selected. Upon the new issues the war has developed and forced upon tho consideration of tho country, the SENTINEL will sretain

The supremacy of the White raoo. Equal taxation, not exempting any description of property from its equal and just coutributTon for thu support of tho Government—general. State, county and municipal.,

Tho immediate restoration of tho late rebel States to theirforraor relations to the general Government, "with all the dignity equality, and rights of the several States unimpaired."

The constitutional right of the sovcral States to determine the qualification of voters. The reduction of the public expendlroros to tho lowest limit consistent with public safety, to maintain thepublic credit and faith inviolate, and diminish the burdens of tho people.

The SB$TIXEL will contain tho latest telegraphic news full and complete market reports, foreign and domestic faithful reports/f legislative and congressional proceedings Stato «fil local news interesting misoel'any, and, in a word, everything that may beneoossary to mako it valuable to the politician, to the business man, to tbe¥armcr, the mechanic and laborer, and in all respects ar. acceptable family paper. Both Congress find the Legislature will soon jkM amble, And it is important that the, people should bo oonreoSly advised of their action and of the measures they shall adopt.

Now is tho tiiae to read. The newspaper, presenting itself daily and weekly, has a powerful influence in moulding public sentiment. It becomes therefore, the patriotic duty of all who entertain the belief that the only hope of maintaining a free, a pure^and an .economical Government is in tho supremacy of Democratic principles and policy, to see thut papers advocating those doctrines and measures have a general circulation.

The SENTINEL, deprived of all official patronage, looks alone to tho people for supportv^nd it will ever bo found a true advocate to their rights andinterests. With liberal encouragement its proprietors will enlarge and otherwisoimprovo it. and place it in a position in every roipect worthy the powerful party it represents. It will requiro but little effort on the part of thoto who feel interested in the maintenance and supremacy of Democratic principles to plaoo tho Sentinel in the hands of every Dcmocraticjfamily in Indiana, at the least, and to accomplish that end every Democrat is rcquestcdito oot as a voluntary agent. The terms of the Daily and Weekly SENTINEL for tho coming year have been fixed si the following low rates: .-y.yi-

No man's namo is more intimately conneoted vitK tho history ef Materia Modioa of ino United States, or more favorably known as a pioneer in Medical discovery, than that of

John Bill! of Louisville. Kentucky,

ilia inimitable preparation of Saraaparilla has long stood at tho heads of the various compounds of that valuable drug.

HIS COMPOUND OF WILD CHERRY

Has become a household word throughout tho west aud south.

His "Worm Lozenges

In less than a year after thoir introduction attained a reputation as wide-spread *as the continent of North Aiuorica.

But the crowning «lory of his life remains to be attained in his latest discovery, or rathor combination, for he docs not claim to have been the diacoveror of

O E O N

Which is tho basis of the bitters now offered to tho public. That honor belongs to the native inhabitants of Central America, to whom its virtues havd been known for more than two hundred yfears.— Armed with it the Indian bids defiance to the most deadly malaria, and handles, without fear, the. most venomous serpent. It is a belief with thom, that, while there is breath left in tho body, tho Cedron is potenttocurs.no matter what tho disease way be.

While Dr. Bull is not prepared to endorse this extravagant pretension, he is, nevertheless satisfied from a thorough examination of the evidence relating to its virtues, that as a remedy and preventative for all diseases arising from exposure, either to changes of weather and climate, or to the miasmatic influences, it stands
